bradl
I feel terrible seeing posts deleted when I know it's just someone who cares deeply about their cairn and is desperate for help. But there are at least two reasons why posting essentially the same request in multiple places is a bad idea. 1. Changing a topic midstream hijacks a discussion thread. A person looking for ideas on names for a puppy is not expecting to read about the ingredients in kibble in the middle of a 'name' thread, to make up an extreme example. 2. If you scatter the same topic across different posts you make it much harder for anyone who might have relevent information or experience to find and follow the conversation. If they are reading about your experience in one thread they are not going to be expecting follow-up posts in another thread. It is for this reason that when you report progress it is best to go back to the original thread if it is still around (use 'search'). People care and want to know how things turn out. Later visitors won't be able to follow and learn from your experiences if they are scattered across several disconnected threads. Finally, please do not take forum moderation personally. We are all hoping for the best for anyone with a Cairn, or heart, in need. CAIRNTALK: Questions?
