anniegirl Posted November 26 Posted November 26 Hi everyone! Just wanting to know if anyone has a recommendation for some paw protection for the cold icy roads for walky time! Last year we had 40 below but even at 0 degrees it's too cold for their paws. My attempt at a homemade bootie was a dismal failure! Please help Quote
bradl Posted November 26 Posted November 26 I wish I had an answer to be helpful but also somewhat relieved that I have *no idea at all* — and hope to remain meteorologically (?) ignorant on the subject! I do look forward to some recommendations though in case we are plunged into actual weather. Quote CAIRNTALK: Questions? Sam I Am Posted November 28 Posted November 28 (edited) My favorite boots are made out of felt with no hard pads on the bottom(my dogs don’t like that). They are easy enough to make with Velcro to close them. And yes they have a tendency to fall off but if you also use painters masking tape at the top,of the boots it works pretty good. The picture shows the boots without the tape on them.Alberta winters can be really cold ! bradl Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Those are great looking boots. Now that you've mentioned it, felt is used for Autosocks (a tire chain alternative) which I've found to be fantastic on the (rare) snow day around here. Quote CAIRNTALK: Questions? Kathryn Posted Sunday at 03:37 AM Posted Sunday at 03:37 AM Lynn - where do you get those boots? Our boys manage to pull off everything we have tried. Quote
