I can't remember who or where I came across the recommendation for this New Zealand series but we recently fired it up and have been enjoying it. We watch it with the CC on. I like that the format for each episode is a self contained 90 minutes in a subculture-of-the-week sort of way (although there are through lines, running jokes, etc that span episodes). 

We're on season four of six. We watch via Acorn on Prime.
