bradl
We've agreed to take a one-year-old puppy who belonged to our friend who recently passed . We've taken "Buddy" on a trial basis but we plan on his becoming a permanent resident. He will be getting a new name once we divine what it is. In the meantime say hello to "New Guy" (aka Kinloch's William Wallace). 2 Quote CAIRNTALK: Questions? Kathryn
Well he seems to have already settled in! What great news this is for you and Peggy, Brad! And he does look a little like my fellow Angus... perhaps I should hope he doesn't act too much like him... Congratulations!
Sam I Am
He is adorable!!! Trial basis...right Quote Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened. - Anatole France Adventures with Sam &Rosie

Hillscreek
Hello cute little New Guy! Just at the right age to try taking over. You are lucky to have found a home where you will be loved and understood. Looks like someone will be keeping you on your toes Brad! You'll enjoy him I'm sure.
bradl
I'm at work so no photos this morning. New guy appears to be a ball dog and we've exercised him with some fetch in the backyard. Peggy texted me to report that his eagle eye spotted some felted wool dryer balls I made *in the dyrer* and climbed half into the drum to get one out. 2 1 Quote CAIRNTALK: Questions? Hillscreek
Sometimes I've named my dogs, as I did with Angus, but more often I've waited a bit and they tell me a name by their behavior, quirky ways, brain power, emotional attachment (or not), whatever is special to that particular dog.

bradl
Puppies need exercise. Our neighbor and her son recently each got a "mini" husky puppy (littermates). 1 Quote CAIRNTALK: Questions? Kathryn
How great that your neighbors were thoughtful enough to get little exercise machines for New Guy! At least he doesn't seem to bark loudly as he runs back and forth -- both of mine do that... 1
bradl
Ahhh, the barking has taken some work. And a squirt bottle. And a rattle can. And video editing 2 2 Quote CAIRNTALK: Questions? Hillscreek
Ha Ha Brad. When I first used the squirt bottle re Angus's barking he attacked it! I was so naive in those days. I had to learn he was a terrier pup not a retriever pup!! My retriever pups always backed off and said "sorry", then asked "is it ok to play with the water?" Angus just said "what do you think you are doing? Get that thing out of my way."
Otis’s Mom
I remember when Otis was that littleI tell him to settle when he starts howling and every time I tell him to settle and clap my hands he starts to howl a teeny bit less and I have to keep doing it until he’s like pretending to howl, it’s so funny! Otis’s Mom
I thought about naming Otis, Genghis after Genghis Khan LOL, But Otis is the name that fit him that’s what I did. His name is Otis Ray Redding- my friend Linda (She passed away a month ago) always used to called him Mr. ReddingHe absolutely adored her and she loved him... I won’t let anybody else call him that. he looks just like my Otis! Good luck with the name! Sam I Am
Same in our household....why use a dog bed when you have your humans memory foam mattress! Actually makes sense to me. 1 Quote Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened. - Anatole France Adventures with Sam &Rosie
