Yes he love the beach but hates the water.  He has now decided he has to investigate every hole on the beach just in case ..

Welcome to the best ever forum on Cairns!

Folks were immensely helpful in raising our first ever Cairn from challenging puppyhood to sweet but strong willed happy companion.

Toby and our 3 yr old Katie are twins! Brindle with black masks.

Love the pictures!

Cheers!

Hello Toby nice to meet you.

Cairns seem to either love or hate the water. Angus doesn't mind walking out in the rainiest or snowiest days. He just shakes off the wet from his rough outer coat BUT if there is any chance, however small, of actual skin getting wet he avoids this at all costs. That means walking round puddles (even when it is raining) because the wet might go over the top of his foot. It means staying far away from big water - creeks lakes etc.

And yes holes do need investigating. Who knows what/who might be down there. For Angus it's necessary to check every hole along the field edges and in the brush.

Looking forward to hearing more of Toby's adventures!

So true about the water - Pepper (the 9 year old) loves to swim!!! Brodie (the 3 year old) won't go near the water - digs his toes in and won't budge!!!

Sam doesn’t care...mud, water, snow, sleet...a good Cairn for Canadian winters.

Toby lives in the UK...how can he not like water.🌧
