Glad to find this forum where I can get information on the greatest breed of dog in the world. Never thought I'd be a small dog person until we got our first Cairn "Sassy" to be a companion to my wife's Yorkie. When Sassy passed I tried to adopt a rescue but even though I was approved, the process was taking forever. I ended up getting a pup, Brodie (now 1) and later his buddy and half brother Duff. I couldn't resist giving them traditional Scottish names.

Anyway it's good to be here and I've attached a picture of my boys. Brodie on the left Duff on the right.

They are. Duff is the typical Cairn pup. You've got to keep an eye on him. He's infatuated with my wife's 15 year old Yorkie who wants nothing to do with him. He doesn't understand why he can't play with him like he does Brodie.

Brodie has been the best big brother for Duff. They actually are half brothers (same sire). He hasn't tried to be aggressive or dominant. I couldn't be happier with them.

and I agree it is the greatest breed in the world. actually all dogs are priceless, all breeds have their charms and mutts are champions. but cairns have something very special in the way they first ignore people then connect with them very deeply. their combination of intelligence, creativity, initiative, willfulness, insight, sympathy and companionship is unique.
