remltr
We should now have enough time for longer walks and melting off our winter and previous years extra pounds. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. It's only been a couple hours and already we are looking at each other and thinking what do you want to do, I don't know, what do you want to do? 2 3 Quote Sassy Jan 22, 2005 Â AM. CH. Sam I Am
It’s a good thing...waking up in the morning with your pup beside you, grab a coffee, read the news, , decide what the day will bring...walking, baking those healthy muffins...paint, basically doing what ever you want! Congrats... 1 Quote Until one has loved an animal, a part of  one's soul remains unawakened.  - Anatole France Adventures with Sam &Rosie
bradl
Congratulations  Now you'll have time too for new hobbies like squirrel-watching, treat-tracking, and makeup tutorials    1 Quote CAIRNTALK: Questions? Kathryn
Retirement is fun! You can do whatever Sassy wants to do! If she wants to sleep late, you can sleep late. If she wants to stay up til the middle of the night, well -- you can stay up. Maybe you should buy her one of those big RVs and drive her around the country to see all her cairn friends. Farms in South Dakota, friends in New York City and Chicago -- and even the lakes of Minnesota (come during the summer so we can grill her favorite steak outside...). Because I still do some pottery, I don't always feel retired. But I did actually spend the first six months of my retirement in 2013 taking care of all that "deferred maintenance" on my home. I knew I had to do so much of that stuff, but it really started to bother me more when I was around the house more. Before I retired, I could just walk out the door to work and think, "I'll get around to that some day..." Then some day came... Of course, you would now have time to get a second puppy...but would Sassy be willing to share her mascara???
hheldorfer
Congratulations to you both! I dream of the day when I won't hear that #$%###&! alarm clock in the morning. I hope you and Sassy have a terrific time together!

Hillscreek
Retirement. How I loved it for the first six months or so. Caught up with things I needed to do but never had time for. Set my own hours early or late. But then when I was all sorted and relaxed vacation forever began to get old. So I got a part time job with very flexible hours. Spent the rest of the time, tending to my flower garden - forget all those years of veggies. Got new puppy - Hello Angus!! and delved into some research I'd wanted to do. Happy happy! Wish you and Sassy all the best with time to do what you both wish most!!
