Hi! I am a new dog owner. Me and my husband adopted memphis who is 4 yrs old on an adoption agency. He is definitely a mix but with what? So adorable and intelligent. Pls help!

Cairn mixed with Shih Tzu?  Poodle?

There is a dog DNA test you can take if you really must know :-)

I think Wisdom Panel is the one that vets recommend.   Ask your vet about it.

that is a very cairny looking dog. i would also suspect shih-tzue or lhasa apso. how about behavior? you might get the best of both!

The coat definitely looks Cairn-ish.  Is it soft or rough?  Either way, I think we can let Memphis join the club as an honorary Cairn.  😉

Behavior alert and loves to be outdoors. Sweet and loves to be pet.

when we got him his coat is kind of wiry / rough on top and soft under. Then the grooming cut it. I was wondering because of his ears and he is kind of long.

The adorable, intelligent, and wiry coat are plausibly Cairn :)  The round eyes and flop ears put me a bit in mind of a Yorkie although the size doesn't … but honestly I am *terrible* at mix ID guessing.  Memphis (great name) looks to be a delight. Enjoy!

I have a shih-poo,  so I'm thinking maybe half and half?   But, definitely cairn in there......

He has dainty feet, poodle-like?
