Travel buddy

Hi everyone, Wally and I just returned from his first airplane trip, which I am pleased to report went very well. He's a wee Cairn at only 12 pounds, so he fit easily under the seat in his little travel quarters. We'd been practicing during car trips; even so, I was nervous that he wouldn't tolerate the constraint. In the end, we had a great time visiting friends in Washington state, a trip made even more enjoyable by his company. Here we are at the Seattle airport for a brief layover... he was just hanging out in his time machine (aka his travel tote) watching the world go by when I snapped this.

Wally looks quite pleased with his trip.  Better start collecting stickers from each state for his time machine.  What a cute little cairn.  Great pic. Glad you all had fun.

I have always wondered if dogs have to swallow a lot like we uprights when the cabin pressure changes in flight?

I wondered that as well though heard no whimpering or any other sign of distress as my own ears popped. 

Dempsy's Mom, that's a great idea about the stickers!!

He is adorable.  Did you give him anything to calm him down before the flight?  My girl is about 11 lb, but I'm hesitant to fit her into the small carrier for under the seat.
