Adding to the family?

I'll take them both. Nothing cuter than a Cairn pup, except maybe an adult Cairn. I am so excited for you.

Today is the big day. We're going to pick up our new little girl today. We're a little apprehensive, after not having a new puppy in the family in over 20 years. Our little guy Titan we've had since he was 2 years old. So no pups for a while.

Will post some pics or videos of the big meeting between Titan and his new sister. Praying for no "fireworks" between them!

Well, so far so good. She's a lovely, loving little ball of fur. Titan got a little chippy one time when she got up into his grill, so we're going to have to work on that a little. He's not used to being around happy, curious little pups. I'll post up some videos one we get home tomorrow. We're all four cooped up in our motorhome right now and it's a little hard for her to be video-genic at the moment. More later. Thanks for all your interest.

Well, by golly, she's a looker for sure--gotta love those Cairn faces.  Probably the older male will come along, it has been my experience that male dogs are  usually reluctant to threaten or especially, to harm a female dog.  I'm sure that when Titan figures out the entertainment value of this little one, he will come around big time.

Have a name for the little one yet?

Thank you. Yes, we finally agreed on Daisy. More pics later.

Here's Daisy's first moments on her new home turf, very much in the discovery mode.

Titan has been kind of aloof to her so far, except for one short growl.

We've discovered her superpower: crying mournfully for long periods of time while in her pen! She's going to have to get used to being in it for a while until she's settled in more.

(I apologize if you have trouble opening and playing the video. It was over 7 MB and had to drop the resolution way down to even attach it. Result is very pixelated.)

Puppies don't like being separated from their litter. They get used to it after a while. In the old days it was recommended to put an alarm clock in their bed. The ticking simulated the heartbeat of their mates.

Thanks, we may have to try that little trick. I've heard of the same before but haven't had to employ it, before now..
