Popular Post kjwarnold
The weather was great yesterday so we took Kirby and Phinney out to hang on the dock for a while. It was Phinney's first chance to spend some real time loose out there. Until we know he can safely swim to shore by himself if he falls in, he'll wear a life jacket. It didn't seem to bother him a bit, unlike Kirby who slinks around for a while after we put it on him. Lucky for Kirb, he only has to wear it when we ride the JetSki! We practiced our Sit/Stays. It's a great practice area because there are lots of distractions. You can see Kirby is focused on something in the distance; its ducks on the beach. This was a huge challenge for him since chasing ducks off the beach is his job! Phinney is in obedience class now, so he did great with his Stay out there with ducks, fish jumping and boats going by. Speaking of fish, Phinney got his first look at fish coming up for bait around the dock. He was pretty shocked at Kirby's barking/shrieking at them but got used to that. The huge carp coming up to feed scared him! Maybe because they're almost as big as him! I'm sure he'll get used to it all quickly. He loves to snorkel for rocks and things in the shallow water on the beach, so I think fishing will come naturally to him. We're hoping the spirit of Packy will infect him with the love of fishing! Popular Post kjwarnold
The concrete alligator fountain was kind of scary, so he had to stand back and stretch to check it out. He stands back from the edge of the dock and stretches to see the water, too. He's a cautious little guy! 12 Quote Jandy and my Cairns, Kirby & Phinney

hheldorfer
Phinney will throw caution to the winds soon enough. He's such a handsome lad and Kirby looks great too!
Lupinegirl
What a cutie! Love his perky face and stretched legs. I' looking forward to seeing how his persinality shapes over time. Nikki stretches like that, too, when he's cautious and when he eats out of his bowl and doesn't want to waste the effort of moving two steps closer. Would love to see Phinney on a coast guard trawler heading out to help me if I were in trouble!

sanford
Let us know when Phinney makes his first catch! You should have it stuffed, mounted and hung above the mantle piece!? 5 Quote FEAR THE CAIRN!
Malcolm's Dad
Phinney does have an interest in the lake. Good idea with the life vest for now. He is so cute. Maybe when he sees the smaller fish he may want to explore further. A large carp is a little too much.
