This picture was taken the day that Dempsy and I picked Elsie up at the pound in Minneapolis in 2013.  She looks a little skeptical of her future. :) She had no idea that she would be traveling to a South Dakota farm.  They told us that she originally came from Georgia.  She was in the system for awhile.

This was taken last year around Christmas.  Her gotcha day is officially March 2nd, but we will be gone, so Elsie has been receiving loves all week long.  She is a dog that can control me with her eyes.  She tells me everything that she is thinking just by her look.  I can tell when she's mad, disgusted, happy or when it's potty time, walk time, feed me time, bedtime.  She sets me up with those eyes and plays games with me - like the many times she pretends she going to jump up on the couch to sit with me, I get all excited and all of a sudden she pivots on her fanny and jumps up on the chair with Jim.  Then she glances at me with those laughing, mischievous eyes.  She's something.  Dempsy dearly loves his little sister and admirers her hunting skills.  It is so cute to see them together.  So anyway Elsie has been with us 4 fun years.

Aww. Hard to believe anyone could pass her up. She's a beauty.

This has been a pretty special week for pups, since Nikki's gotcha day anniversary was just couple of days ago. February 26th. :) He's been with me an even dozen years.

Happy Gotcha Day Elsie!  You got the perfect home, perfect mom and  perfect brother - and tons of farm adventures.  No dog could be luckier!

Way to go Elsie! You really  hit the jackpot with  your new home. So glad because you got a wonderful new  home and we on the forum got to know you. Many,Many more happy years on the farm!

How could it possibly be 4 years already! Time flies when you are loved, doesn't it, Elsie? Glad your mom found you and saw what a great little dog you are.

Oh, and hey - Demps is a great little dog too.

Kathryn I feel the same. It doesn't seem possible that it has been four years. Time flies!!!!

She is a very blessed pup who in turn, has blessed all of us. Beautiful.

Happy belated Gotcha Day Elsie, you sure are one lucky little Cairn to end up with such a wonderful family and to live on a farm too; sure wish I could live on one.

Love that close up photo of you Elsie and I can see how your eyes would control your mom, they are so expressive...:P

Thank you all.  Elsie had to spend her gotcha day at the kennel.  Her and Demps were happy to see me after a week, but their happiness soon turned into payback - I was snubbed for a while.
