No rest for a guardian cairn

Busy day for Angus. Here pictured during a brief pause in almost continuous thunderstorms. Temps around 90F.

No Angus you can't go out. Lightning may strike even little guys like you. Plus it is way too hot and humid to go chasing around barking and growling at the thunder.

We hope all you cairns and cairn families stay safe in the heat and wild weather.

You are doing a splendid job Angus of guarding your house from the lightening!

Kirby would be right there with you, barking at the the storm and always winning!  After all, the storms always leave, don't they?

Good job Angus! Stay inside though!

Addie does not bark at storms, but the second rain and lightning start she is racing for a window and plastering her face against it to watch the show. She's my little storm chaser, as long as she stays indoors. She HATES getting wet.

It's amazing how similar Angus and Addie looked when they were youngsters and how different their coat colors are now!

"as far as i am concerned cairns are the original spirit from which all terriers spring, and all terriers are cairns very deep down inside." pkcrossley

Haha.  Angus and Dempsy could fight those thunderstorms off together.  Yesterday afternoon there was a lot of thunder and lightening strikes ... not much rain unfortunately.  Dempsy was on overtime - double duty! - full alert! - "We are under attack!"  he raced about the house from window to window.  Finally the thunderstorm retreated.  Dempsy won the battle.  Quite satisfied with his victory he settled in for a well deserved nap.
