Malcolm's Dad
Last night Malcolm barked away the fireworks. Today there have been only a few but it is the afternoon so after dark there will be more. Even so Malcolm barks them away. Wishing all a good day and nice barbeques.
Hillscreek
Enjoy the day. Angus has been busy barking away the noise and no doubt will be busy again tonight.
hheldorfer
Buffy is lending her voice to the anti-fireworks chorus too. We've been hearing them off and on since Friday. Hope you have a good day too? Throwing anything on the grill for Malcolm?
Lupinegirl
Happy 4th to all of you, too! We got through last night's big fireworks show with no barking, pacing, panting anxiously, or hiding from Nikki. I think he was too tired from our all day outing on Saturday and from guarding the house all day Sunday to really care about the noise last night. Mom and I watched tv until ten so that helped drown out the worst of the noise. Today it's cool and rainy so hopefully the neighbors will stay indoors. Malcolm's Dad
I am a lazy cook so today it was Manwich hamburgers. I don't give Malcolm much human food. Too many times he has vomited after eating scraps from my dinner so it is kibble from now on. Fireworks have really died down. Maybe they are too expensive and people have other things to spend their money on.

Lynn in TN
I hope everyone had a Happy Fourth of July as we have. We've been hearing fireworks off and on for a week. We will probably hear them for another week as everyone will hit the fireworks stands and buy up the discounted fireworks. The Star-Spangled Banner O say can you see, by the dawn’s early light, What so proudly we hail’d at the twilight’s last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight O’er the ramparts we watch’d were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there, O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave? On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes, What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep, As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses? Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam, In full glory reflected now shines in the stream, ’Tis the star-spangled banner - O long may it wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave! And where is that band who so vauntingly swore, That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion A home and a Country should leave us no more? Their blood has wash’d out their foul footstep’s pollution. No refuge could save the hireling and slave From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave, And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave. O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand Between their lov’d home and the war’s desolation! Blest with vict’ry and peace may the heav’n rescued land Praise the power that hath made and preserv’d us a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto - “In God is our trust,” And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave. Dempsy's Mom
Yes - I hope you all enjoyed your 4th. It was a hot devil today. We didn't do much. Dempsy and Elsie ran around and jumped in the pool, ran around and jumped in the pool - over and over again. I am glad they got to spend the day home cuz' tomorrow morning they go to the kennel for 3 days. I hate dropping them off there, but it goes fast and they are safe and in air conditioning. Happy 4th!! Quote Elsie, Max, Meeko & Lori
