bradl
Spiff up your profile with a cover photo. Viewing your profile, touch the Cover Photo button to pop up the Upload Photo link, drag a photo (max filesize 250KB 500KB) onto the uploader, position the photo vertically how you like it, then Save. You can delete or change them any time. Cover photos are available to registered users with 3 or more posts. Have fun! Quote CAIRNTALK: Questions? Hillscreek
Easy for smart computer folks but I'm having trouble. My pics are in pixels and seem to be too big to upload. So how many pixels should I make them Brad
Sam I Am
I am pretty useless also in the techi world. But there is an app called reduce and it does a great job Quote Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened. - Anatole France Adventures with Sam &Rosie
bradl
Hillscreek it doesn't matter pixel wise too much as the photo will be resized to fit the horizontal space no matter what. However pixel size does *roughly* correlate to file size. The black and white photo I used for Tess Case was 600x 42 pixels with a file size of 14KB. Here is the image exactly as used: For whatever platform or device you are using, see if you can find how to view the file size information for any given photo. Then you can use one of many means to resize it down until it is less than 250KB 500KB. If you let us know your PC or device type and operating system (Mac or PC, Android or IOS etc) we can almost certainly point you to instructions and resources. We can do this Quote CAIRNTALK: Questions? bradl
I just doubled the allowable size too. You can use a photo up to 500KB. Quote CAIRNTALK: Questions? Hillscreek
Thanks. Now I understand. Another difficulty. I try to upload . It says I can only upload one pic but the space is blank. Must be from trying earlier with big pics. How can I clear the space and start over?
bradl
Not sure I can visualize this. What happens if you drag the photo onto the space where the upload cloud is? Once it says "Done" click Save. You won't see the photo until after Saving and you move on to the next step, positioning. Quote CAIRNTALK: Questions? hheldorfer
Yeah! I did it! Thanks for the excellent (i.e. idiot-proof) instructions.
Hillscreek
It seems to have fixed itself. Now I can do it! I see I can change the photo any time. That's neat - for different seasons, places or whatever. Thanks Brad for your kind patience. I really appreciate it
