sanford
Small cute dogs, (like cairns) when left tied outside stores are easy, tempting prey for dog-nappers! Now that this topic has come up, I want to add my voice to the others in order to raise the consciousness of cairn owners not to do this and risk having their hearts broken. 2 Quote FEAR THE CAIRN! hheldorfer
I agree with Sanford. I know there are places where this practice is common but the world isn't a safe, friendly place any more. It only takes one person with bad intentions to stroll by, grab your beloved dog and bring you grief. Better safe than sorry.
Pepper Bug's Mom
Lately I have seen a lot of dogs inside the grocery carts! I always say "Hello" and it is fun to talk to the owners. Quote Pepper's Mom
remltr
There was a follow up article in the Seattle Times Friday. http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/crime/stolen-dyed-terrier-reunited-with-owner/ Quote Sassy Jan 22, 2005 AM. pkcrossley
Luckily the dog was not headed for resale or to bait fighting dogs, just to a lonely woman behaving desperately and stupidly (and not a little cruelly). It was a fluke that they got this dog back, and it only happened because a fairly harmless person had the dog. I worry a tiny bit that people reading the whole story will get the impression that if your dog is led away from where you left it, eventually security guards and well-wishers and the police will get it back for you. Chances are vanishingly small that it will be as quick or easy as this.
