German Shepard

Dempsy's Mom

Recommended Posts

I wish every day didn't bring a new problem.  This weekend we were at a wedding and we received a call about a dog being out on the highway.  Obviously it wasn't our dogs it was the idiots up the hill again.  You all remember the story of Pooch - well, here we go again.

Now today Dempsy, Elsie and I were going to the quonset in the gator and here was this dog.  She is a young german shepard, not particularity attractive and scatter brainy. One identification and one electronic for fencing.  The electronic collar was horribly tight - I loosened it a bit.  Dempsy and Elsie went mad.  I did not let them meet like I did Pooch.  I took Demps and Els directly back to the house and the german shepard followed me to the house.

I told Jim you are going to have to take care of this somehow.  I do not want this dog down here.  I want to be able to have my animals safe and not harassed by this dog.  My cats were no where in sight when she was down here and so far she has not discovered my chicken coop.  I am hoping that Jim will give them a call and they will take care of it.  But I fear it won't be good for the dog and will continue to be an issue.

Pooch, continues to do great and we continue to receive pics of him enjoying himself in the house. :)  Iowa suits him perfectly.

Evidently you don't remember Pooch.  We know where this dog belongs that's not the issue.  At any rate, they did come down and retrieved him.  They asked, "Where's that dumb dog?!" I am afraid the dog will be punished and soon he will be out on the highway again and then down here.  It's not the dogs - it's the people. Some people insist on having a dog and they should not have dogs

Anyway now I am free to put Demps, Els and Kitty out.  It feels like we have spent the morning in prison.

Going through this situation over and over again must be very stressful for you.  I agree - some people simply should not be allowed to own a dog.

Ido remember the Pooch situation. It was tough and a lucky ending by chance. Good to know things worked out. Hope there won't be big hassle with this dog and she doesn't get run over.

I also remember the pooch story. Thank goodness you found him a loving home Lori.

I know if I had a dog harassing my horses, dogs etc, the owners would only have one chance to keep the dog off my property. If not I would take the dog to the nearest animal control officer. Let the owners pay a fine to get it back.

I did think about doing that - but that would of been the start of World War V, or is it VI, around here.  I just hope they didn't take it out on the dog.  This story is already written I am afraid.

Awe, having a German Shepherd, I know how loyal and protective they are of their family and don't usually run off like that unless they are very unhappy.  That's too bad, they should have this dog if they're not going to treat it right.  Our girl Tess is always right by our side, either my husbands or mine, she sticks right with us and would never wander off.  Maisie is a different story, Miss Independent and all that..... :innocent:

I hope this dog doesn't end up getting hurt and that it's owners start stepping up and doing the right thing.
