Popular Post josie&holly
I decided after a a lot of thinking about it that I would like another Cairn before anything happens to Holly. I then heard about a 5 nth old pup that a breeder not far from me had available. So this afternoon myself, Holly and Sandra went along to meet the pup and her breeder in Mansfield. The breeder had kept her from the litter with intent to show her but her teeth are not right for showing [but do not stop her eating or chewing your fingers!] so had decided to sell her. She and Holly seemed to get on alright, some sniffing and licking going on and the pup followed Holly round furniture and then Holly followed her. Then the pup settled on my lap and Holly lay on the sofa next to me and they both went to sleep whilst we chatted. She is housetrained, socialised [has been to local pub too], inoculated and walks well on lead. She has ben brought up in the home and the breeder is very caring and interested. she will have Ivy back for a while if Holly becomes ill, or back if it does not work out. But they seem to be OK with each other. Ivy is crate trained so can be popped in there to give Holly space at times. So I decided I was going to have her and so in a fortnight when she is 6 mths old she will be part of our household. Up to now her name has been Skye but since that seems to be getting common[there are three on UK Forum and two living nearby!] I decided on "IVY" so it will be for now Holly and Ivy!Some photos now from our meeting - first two taken by Sandra and one by me Josie and Ivy 27071I (7) by Josephine Dunster, on Flickr Josie and Ivy 27071I (3) by Josephine Dunster, on Flickr P1000725 by Josephine Dunster, on Flickr Edited July 28, 2015 by josie&holly 15 Quote www.cairnterriertalk.co.uk
josie&holly
Not waiting a month, am getting her in 12 days as have to get a crate and baby gate [so can pop her out of way if Holly is not well], sort out insurance, also I have a couple of appointments/outings next week and want to be able to spend time with her when she is home to get her settled in her new place and with her new friend Holly! Her colour is classed as Wheaton but I would call it strawberry blonde! The photos do not really show it properly but it is a pretty colour. 4 Quote www.cairnterriertalk.co.uk

Kathryn
Cairn-gratulations! They sure look like they will get along from the photos -- just make sure to give Holly her usual loving and more so she doesn't feel put out. Love the name! utgaard
I'm so happy for you. I love to see Holly and Ivy so relaxed around each other. The only problem is that it is way, way too early for this Christmas carol I now have going through my head. 1 Quote Who rescued whom?

josie&holly
Well, lets see, already have a crate but have bought a pad for inside it, a lead, a nylabone, a food dish, a barrier/gate thingy for one of my doors [to stop her trying the stairs], a little kong wubbla, and some wire mesh to put on my gate to stop her getting through [but forgot needed something to fix it with so that is another visit to DIY shop!]. Had wire mesh on gate for Holly but took it off a while ago as she never bothered..... Have put crate in place and Holly has sniffed it and ignored it so far. She does not go in one at all, but decided to use it as Ivy is already crate trained, and so that Ivy could have time in there to ensure Holly has some peace. So thought that Holly could get used to it being there! 4 Quote www.cairnterriertalk.co.uk
