Dog Flu

Yesterday while sitting in the tractor I caught the tail end of a news cast regarding dog flu.  Now this morning on the local news I hear about it. ??  Dempsy and Elsie don't have much contact with other dogs, so I am not to worried, but if your dog is kenneled with others or if you are adopting it sounds like something to be aware of.  Luckily it rarely takes their lives.

There have been quite a few cases here in the Chicago area.  I read in today's newspaper that all of the dogs at one shelter (30 or so) were infected.  There are warning signs at the dog parks and many doggie day care places are empty because people are afraid to bring their dogs in.  Hope it clears up soon!

This has been reported on the news several times here in NYC. So far it seems to be confined to the Chicago area, but it is feared that it will spread from there to the east and elsewhere.

FEAR THE CAIRN!
