Introducing the Companion Challenge

Just for the heck of it, I've added a "Companion Challenge." It's  to encourage more Cairns to participate and enjoy obedience.

The Challenge: the Challenge encourages you to make a public commitment to training your dog and demonstrating the success of your teamwork by earning an AKC obedience title.

CairnTalk bonus limited-time offer: To encourage those new to obedience I will send any forum member who earns their first AKC Novice (CD — Companion Dog) title a CairnTalk hat and apply (or extend) a "CairnTalk subscriber" membership for one year.

The two conditions for the bonus offer are these:

  • This must be your first obedience title. You must not have already earned a "regular" obedience title (Novice, Open, or Utility) in either AKC or UKC with any dog. Rally or sub-novice classes are fine.

  • You must state your intention before earning your first Q with the dog. The date you add your dog to the database will establish your challenge commitment date.

Hat offer good while hats last :)

Even if you don't qualify as a new handler, I encourage anyone working in obedience with their Cairn to join it. There is comfort in numbers :P
