Sam I Am
So you would think after gathering toys for Jock for 12.5 yrs, all been washed, Madame Rosie would be thrilled by this huge stash! No go on the used icky toys mum. We now have a new collection starting, and it's growing weekly. I can't bring myself to throw away Jocks toys, silly I know, but every one of them I remember giving to him. So here she is with one of her favourites, Ms Pig. She rates tops along with Mr Racooney, Mr Rat and Teddy. I am not sure who is in charge in our household, the critters or us. Silly me, of course it's the critters. PS we have yet been allowed to get clippers near the head...trims are tolerated, clipper no. It's like trying to hold jello. Hence the fuzzy face Edited April 3, 2015 by Terrier lover 7 Quote Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened. - Anatole France Adventures with Sam &Rosie
Islander
She is adorable! (Rosie, not Ms Pig!) Edited April 4, 2015 by Islander
Hillscreek
Rosie has such a great Scottie face. If only I had all Angus's soft toys since he was a pup. I remember each time I bought them and each time he destroyed them.
MegsMom
Don't feel bad for keeping some of the rememberance toys; I've done the same with some of my westie's, that I lost in 2002. About the face trimming... 'course I like the non-standard-trim face, but we all decide to go 'regulation' every now & then. Have you tried a palm-sized trimmer with her? I had a Conair Pet Palm Pro, battery, palm-sized trimmer that I've literally used till death. Loved it: quiet, fast for ears & feet, even gets between pads, blade about 3/4inch wide, not too bad on battery use--especially since I've been able to 'sneak trim' every dog I've tried to use it on, w/o exhausting battles, nips or bites. It's probably lasted near 10yrs. Unfortunately as always "they don't make 'em like they used to' and the reviews for the look-alike in yellow didn't sound very positive. So I looked for similar with better reviews overall; I've recently gotten a Conair Equine FX Micro-Trimmer (thinking it might be a bit hardier) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003ARUE5Q/ref=od_aui_detailpages01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and a Wahl Pet Pocket Pro Trimmer http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002GKNXYC/ref=od_aui_detailpages01?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I've tried a similar Oster which worked OK for a very short while, but the blade didn't hold up. The Conair is slightly quieter than the Wahl, but both are pretty quiet with your hand wrapped around them. I haven't had either long enough/used enough to give you any idea if either might hold up at all, but I do like these little guys well enough for their sheer convenience I'll stay on the hunt until I find one that does hold up reasonably. At ~$20, I could justify replacement every couple of years.
Sam I Am
Thanks Meg's mum! I will have to look into this. She never nips or bites, she is just way to sweet, but when those big clippers get near her face, she just won't hold still. Will definitely try the smaller ones out. Sam I Am
Mum4 we got Rosie as a pup when Jock was still alive. He did a great job in raising her. Still wanting another Cairn when the time is right. Dempsy's Mom
Rosie is a beauty. It sounds like her own collection is coming right along. I would keep Jock's toys too - to sweet to let go off. 1 Quote Elsie, Max, Meeko & Lori
kieiras mom
Add me to those who have a hard time getting rid of loved ones toys, also tags and collars. Rosie is absolutely beautiful and love toe non traditional face. Just cute as can be.
