Pepper Bug's Mom
I have so many cute updated pictures of Pepper on my Samsung Galaxy S3, but it says my file is too large? How do I resize them to be able to upload? Thanks! Sue Quote Pepper's Mom
bradl
Cameras in phones are getting so good these days that this has become a fairly common issue. Assuming that you don't wish to transfer the photos to your desktop and deal with them there, here are two phone-based approaches for resizing: Email or text a copy of the image to yourself first. With IOS, when you choose an image to email (or text) you're prompted to specify, small, medium, large, or original size. I normally choose large or medium. I then just look at the automatically resized image and save it back to my camera roll (with IOS press and hold the image to get the option to save it your camera roll). Then I can choose that smaller image from the camera roll to upload into a post.I don't have an Android device so I don't know if there is the same photo handling integrated into the "share" tools for the various phones but a quick google search tells me there are several apps in the Android store that add the option to your share menu (for example, photo resize). Another option is to create a user album for yourself in the gallery and upload your photos there first. The gallery allows much larger photo sizes than individual posts. Once an image is in your user gallery, it's automatically converted into multiple sizes and you can then insert one into a post as either an image link or as BBCode. To get the codes to a given photo, choose Options → Share Links as seen here: (click to embiggen)To insert an image link, cick the picture frame icon in the edit window: and then paste the image code into the popup image property field:To add it by BBCode instead, paste the code provided in the Share Links popup into your post. When you preview or save your post, the code will be parsed and provide an image that when clicked will take the reader to the image in the gallery. Hope one of these methods works for you!
