Dempsy, "Mum, what are you up to?"

 

"I'm baking some sugar cookies, Demps."

 

"Huh. Can I taste the dough?"

 

"I suppose a little taste."

 

"Mum, that's pretty good stuff.  What are the sugar cookies for?"

 

"Well, you mix them up and bake them to show love."

 

"And then you share them with people you love?"

 

"Yes."

 

While Dempsy is taking another lick off the beater .... "And you love us too, right mum?"

 

"Yes Demps.  I think I see where you are going with this you clever little dog."

Rosie here, humffffff, what do I get, nothing! I don't see my mum baking for me. I think I might just trot down to your farm Dempsey. Your mum loves taking in strays who have been mistreated!

Rosie, this is mum. Really...the home cooked Bison with fresh veggies isn't good enough for you?

Packy and Kirby LOVE cookies! They can hear the lid come off the cookie jar a mile away, even if you try to sneak it off. Kirby's favorites are oatmeal, Packy likes them all!

My local Petco has a large section of bins with a great assortment of treats. By far, the most popular treats are Oreo-style cookies with creme fillings. I overheard staff saying that the cookies are "human grade" quality and ok for people to eat although I haven't been tempted to try one, but Ruffy is crazy about the cookies and goes into "sled-dog" mode toward the bins as soon as we enter the store! I limit him to small samples only, because the ingredients are not shown and I know that for starters, they contain sugar and red food coloring...

Cute comments.  They know that they are special treats.  I can tell by the way they eat them - like they are enjoying every crumb.  I only made them 7 or 8 and they're all gone.

Maisie here.......I love cookies but mom says I have to watch my girlish figure due to not being able to go on long walks or run around the yard like I usually due because of the deep snow (it's way over my head and our snow blower is broken too), ice and bitter cold.  Not fair, I've been a good girl but mom only gives me orange slices and pieces of bananas and apples.   Psst.....I really do like the fruit but please don't tell mom, I'm trying real hard to get some cookies out of her....
