Toto Trot 2014

My friend tells me that a fellow regularly walks two Cairns through her neighbourhood without a leash. They just trot along beside him. I haven't seen this myself! Hard to believe but she is quite trustworthy.

Murphy walks at heel very well, until he sees a spot he wants to pee on, smells something, hears something (all real and unreal sights and sounds).  I would love to see the Central Park Cairn.

Sanford, if you could get a video of the Central Park Cairn I bet it would go viral.  (Here, at least!) :D

I would love to see the Central Park Cairn.

I found out where the Central Park Cairn hangs out... Not surprisingly, it's informally known as "Squirrel Hill", by the local dog walkers.* I know the spot and I'll bring my camera with me next time and hope to capture C.P.C. in action :ninja2: and post the results, (but don't hold your breath)!

* I couldn't help but add this amusing bit of info: "Squirrel Hill is located in the park just behind the Alice In Wonderland statue. This tale just gets curiouser and curiouser ...

...I'd better not let Ruffy go down any rabbit holes!!! :o

Well, we keep hearing stories of remarkably well-trained Cairns but it seems we have no eyewitnesses.    Photographic (no Photoshopping!) or videotaped evidence will be required.  (And this does *not* include obedience Cairns in the ring!)  Please submit your entries to Brad for analysis.  :P

Darn. Had a photo of me walking and Angus trotting along. Thought maybe I could put the two together  But perhaps not. I know we all play fair on this forum - don't we  :innocent:

At the club meeting Tuesday our event chair presented a check for $600 to representatives from NORSAR. We'll post an article about the event on our web site (as soon as Neil gets it to me). Shown here are Neil from our club, a member of the NORSAR support team, and a K9 handler with her dog, Izzie.

Izzie is certified for HRD (human remains detection) AKA a "cadaver dog."  K9 teams are deployed with a support member who is responsible for navigation and communication. It was extremely interesting to hear how they work. Surprisingly sophisticated thanks to available technology like GPS trackers for dogs.
