Posted December 26, 201212 yr Angus is getting ready for our first big snow this year. He just checked it out with a couple of inches on the ground. We played ball and had fun. Expecting 10-12 inches by the morning. I'll be shoveling out a bathroom spot him for sure! Edited December 26, 201212 yr by Hillscreek
December 26, 201212 yr That's a pile of snow in such a short time! Keep warm. Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened. - Anatole France Adventures with Sam &Rosie
December 26, 201212 yr We are close to a foot of snow by now. I can't believe the amount of snowballs all over Ivy's legs. Ivy is very angry because I won't allow her onto the couch while she is all wet. I actually just kicked her off and she huffed and stormed into the bedroom. Just like the kids-but when will they learn I don't really care when they get mad at me, roll their eyes, huff and stomp out of the room
December 28, 201212 yr Love that cartoon image. A little new snow here - but it's icey and snow packed. Elsie, Max, Meeko & Lori
December 28, 201212 yr Author We had two inches on Christmas Eve. Angus loved it. Two days later we had another twelve inches. Angus was very surprised and not sure what to do. He is only 11 inches at the shoulder. After our driveway was plowed he played but somewhat cautiously. As time goes on he's getting used to it. He hasn't gone crazy like some of the other dogs I have owned in the past. He does enjoy shoving his head down in the snow especially in the deer tracks. A note re bathroom duties. He waited till he was ready to burst to go on the driveway. This morning he went (jumped) out in to the deep snow and made his own spot turning round and round and widening out the space. At no time did he use the nice little area I dug out for him!! Now he has a nice little bathroom that is designed the way he wants it - like everything else in his life Here he is on his first outing. http://s1242.photobu...mview=slideshow
December 28, 201212 yr At no time did he use the nice little area I dug out for him!! Typical, headstrong Cairn! LOVE the huge trees in your backyard. We've only gotten a few coatings this year so far. Gavin loved it when the huge flakes were coming down -- really energized him! Tomorrow we'll get maybe 3 inches. Just enough to make everything look pretty for a while, but not much of a nuisance. And I can throw some snowballs for the boys.
December 28, 201212 yr Beautiful pictures of Angus and scenery. Your potty story is so typical - we also got some snow and Bailey held out until today, ohly after Radar showed him how's it done. Snowballs are back, the towel is now hanging near the back door to clean up them up. I love your cartoon image too.
December 29, 201212 yr Author Another day another (lesser) snowfall. We say cairns are flexible and adjust. That's the case with Angus! He's landed on planet snow and he loves it. Today not cautious anymore. Dived into the snow. Chased his ball excitedly, leaping and pouncing, and dug down for it in deep snow. He fixed up his bathroom some more and uses it readily. It's a perfect winter day out there not too cold, snow gently falling..........
January 3, 201312 yr Time to put your emergency Cairn Snowball Removal System into effect! Especially for THIS guy... could be a Cairn under there, who knows?? (copied from http://icanhas.cheezburger.com )
January 3, 201312 yr The picture that Zekey's mom posted is EXACTLY how Ivy looks every time she comes in from the frozen tundra... She hates-HATES the little snowballs on her body. We laugh at her each and every time....
January 3, 201312 yr Oh my goodness! That picture is SO wild. Fury is our first small dog and so I was worrying about her and the elements but it sounds like (& looks like) it won't slow her down any. We don't typically get a lot of snow though...just rain. Cute pics.
