Bonita Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Some days Spencer goes into various parts of the house and either stands or sits and gives a very little bark. There is nothing to bark at. There are nights that he will do this for hours. I take him outside and feed him and nothing seems to help. Anyone else with this issue?
Autumn & Lola Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Haha! He's saying, "This is my corner..........and this is my corner...........and this is my rug...........and this is my refrigerator...............and this is my door.............and hello wall!........and there's a bug.......and I think I hear something.........and there goes a leaf by the window......and who moved this plant......"

Laughing so hard and I really needed to laugh tonight. Thanks so much! This is so true.
Autumn & Lola Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Lynn.......haha! Glad it made you laugh! Carinrescueleague - sheesh, I hope not, for Bonita's sake, but always a possibility I guess.
Dempsy's Mom Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Yes, Autumn and Molly that was an excellent post. Elsie, Max, Meeko & Lori
pkcrossley Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 something is going on in the house or the neighborhood that you are not noticing. somebody has a car whose engine sounds different, there are new voices, a tree is brushing the house, construction noises (maybe from far away), somebody has a new dog, whatever. it clearly doesn't scare spencer but he is curious and probably thinks it is best to mention whatever this thing is. once he is used to it or it goes away he will probably stop. he's making small talk, basically.
lindasue Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Now that it is cold in New England we get critters that burrow themselves below the living room in the crawl space. A few days ago she started the cairn stare at the floor - she can hold it forever. Then the barking starts. Does she think a critter is going to come thru the floor?? It is so funny. Linda & Pegi

She is trying to figure out how she can go thru the floor to get the critter. LOL Kelly will sometimes stare at the floor and then start trying to dig it up. haha
tlwtheq Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Spencer hears something. While they are young, our Cairn children notice many uncommon neighborhood sounds. Although, I have to say that my 12-year-old, Olie, is the first one leading the charge when suspicious stuff is occurring in the neighborhood. I love how they alert us, even tho' sometimes it "may" be a false alarm. Living in a Cairndom is heaven for me! Max and Nelly
