Fudgie Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Hope this is a better picture of the two mixes I adopted from the shelter. They have made themselves at home. They act like they have always been here. Play and get along well, but not very good at taking walks yet. I just don't think they know how! Zuma (white) and Asia (dark).
hheldorfer Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 They're adorable and obviously very happy to have a home. Bless you for adopting these two sweethearts!
Idaho Cairns Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I'm jumping on the "bless you" train here--nothing I can think of is more generous than to take two of these wonderful creatures and provide a safe, warm, and loving home for them. I don't give a darned whether these two are Cairns or not--they needed you and you stepped up and now they can live their lives together like they deserve. I think they are adorable terriers and I'll bet they bring you years of enjoyment.
pkcrossley Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 here here. they are very terrier and i can feel the warmth they are giving off. you are all blessed.
utgaard Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I love the photo of them flopped on the couch. Thank-you for giving these two a home. Who rescued whom?
_whits_ Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Look at those babies! Precious and so much at home. Bless you for taking them in. "as far as i am concerned cairns are the original spirit from which all terriers spring, and all terriers are cairns very deep down inside." pkcrossley
Zekey's Mom Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Aww, they're so sweet! I like how they've mastered synchronized napping!
DemiSheep Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 They are too cute, they really seem to be in heaven. Thank you for the pictures, I can only imagine how hard it was to get them to sit still for a moment to snap them. Our Cairns: Attila (Sprouted 03/09/11), Tessa (Sprouted 01/14/12)
josie&holly Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 They are gorgeos terriers and love the nap photo! Great that you have adopted the two of them. www.cairnterriertalk.co.uk
_whits_ Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I can't help but think that these two fuzzballs are the best gift you could ever give to Fudgie. She's on the Rainbow Bridge, knowing her momma brought in two little ones who so desperately needed the love she found in you. Hawkeye Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 They are so cute, especially the picture of them napping. You have given them a new lease on life - thank you!
Tuesday Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I love how they planted themselves on the couch, and made themselves at home. They are just the most precious little fuzzy faces I have seen! So happy for you!!!
Autumn & Lola Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 OMG cuteness explosion! LOVE the way they've made themselves at home. They are not shy when it comes to couch napping. Funny that they lay the same way as well. Are they both girls?
Hillscreek Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Lucky lucky little terriers to have found a home where they feel safe and happy. You did a great thing for those little guys. They are very cute and adorable. Fudgie would approve we are sure. Years of fun and games ahead says Angus.
Dempsy's Mom Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 They are the cutest little rascals. Just love the pics - Home Sweet Home. Ok, I am curious. Did Asia and Zuma know each other at the shelter or did they come to the shelter together? I am just curious as they seem to obviously enjoy each other. How about Fudgie? What does he think of these new couch hogs. It's just like they played hard and now they are mimicing each other on the couch for a good snooze. Love it. Elsie, Max, Meeko & Lori
Lynn in TN Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Oh how cute! I have to mimic everyone else and say I love how they have taken over the couch for a nap. I am so glad you adopted them. Thank you so much for the pictures.
Fudgie Posted October 25, 2012 Author Posted October 25, 2012 Thanks for all the comments! I am starting to laugh again. Fudgie went to the rainbow bridge in June. I really miss her and I still do daily. She was my little best friend that I got a year after my husband passed away. I had her 6 fun years. She was so full of energy and fun and a little devil all rolled up in one. Anyway, she got sick and I had every test done that could be done, with no answer. It just kept getting worse. I had to make a decision on what to do and have felt sad and guilty since then. I kept reading the cairn rescue page and looking at petfinder. I also have a friend who recently started sending me pictures of little dogs she would find on petfinder. They were cute, but didn't do anything for me. A couple of weeks ago, she sent me a picture of Asia who was at an animal shelter. I kept looking at the picture and finally decided to go and see her. I drove to the shelter which is about an hour or so from me. I walked in this very nice clean shelter that had all the small dogs running around the large reception area, playing and getting to know people. Asia came around a corner twisting her little butt and smiling at me. Well, that was it. Then I found out that Asia had a little friend Zuma that she was very close to. Zuma jumped on my lap and just looked in my eyes. I didn't have the heart to take just Asia, so I adopted both! Zuma had been adopted to a home for about 3 weeks and was brought back. Asia was found near an Asian restaurant on a busy street, I guess dumped. Asia also has a hole in her lip that goes all the way through. It is all healed up and doesn't seem to cause a problem. Asia is very playful and Zuma likes laps. They play very well together and have not fought one bit.....so far! They both have also adapted very well to our home. I thought it would be an adjustment for them, but it's like they have always been here. I still miss Fudgie daily and it still hurts my heart what happened to her I think it always will. But, these two are helping make it less. You guys help too. Everyone is always so nice and helpful. And I LOVE cairn terriers and all of the stories I read on here!
Dempsy's Mom Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Oh, I am so very sorry for your loss of Fudgie. She was young and I am sure it tore you up inside. It is still raw, I can tell by your words, .... but I also can tell that it was time for you to share your love again. And those two sound and look like alot of fun - it really does sound like it was meant to be. I think that they must of had a plan. They were best friends and they made a pack - "Ok if somebody comes in and shows interest in one of us, the other one makes themselves known. Whatever it takes. I mean, jump up on their lap if you need to - just make sure they know that we are a team." And what do you know it worked. Bless you indeed. Elsie, Max, Meeko & Lori
