jo_ Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I seem to post about my concerns and issues so it's about time I share some of the many, many reasons I'm madly in love with these two. Recently returned from our two week vacation - nine hour drive to northern Ontario to some off-grid camping. No cell phones, no internet just some time in the woods and the canoe with the pooches. Pure bliss! Hope you don't mind but I couldn't decide which pics to post so there's quite a few (hope I'm not breaking any forum rules Brad?) Jo, Jagger & Eddie
DemiSheep Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Oh my gosh, you pictures are amazing. Those two look so happy. Thank you for sharing, wow, amazing photography, I felt like I was there. What camera did you use to take those photos? Our Cairns: Attila (Sprouted 03/09/11), Tessa (Sprouted 01/14/12)
_whits_ Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Oh my! Thank you so much for sharing your pictures. Northern Ontario looks amazing! And your boys! Precious! I LOVE the first picture; he's leading the pack on your grand adventure. The sixth picture of the two of them relaxing on each other should be a Cairn postcard! "as far as i am concerned cairns are the original spirit from which all terriers spring, and all terriers are cairns very deep down inside." pkcrossley
idaho 2 Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Two beautiful Cairn's, thanks for sharing!!
Idaho Cairns Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 If what you just did is "breaking the rules" then I am all for complete anarchy because these are some of the finest Cairn pictures I have ever seen! My goodness the picture with the grey "standing guard" over his/her companion is a classic. Lovely photos, every one and they capture the outdoor Cairn very well. Thank you so much.
josie&holly Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 beautiful scenery and two absolutely gorgeous cairns! you and they must have had a wonderful time - thank you for sharing those. www.cairnterriertalk.co.uk
hheldorfer Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Ditto all of the above. Fantastic pics with beautiful scenery and two very happy dogs!
Zekey's Mom Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Oh what beautiful photos!!! Thanks so much for sharing. Looks like they really enjoyed camping. I want to put a caption on that first one, on the canoe: Faster, mommy, faster!!
Hillscreek Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Fantastic pictures. Thanks for sharing. What could be better than time in the wilderness with a cairn or two!
jo_ Posted September 11, 2012 Author Posted September 11, 2012 Thanks everyone. Easy to take good pictures with such beautiful models! These two are fantastic camping companions. Nine hour drive (with a few pee breaks) and not a peep out of either one of them. We quickly realized after Jagger's first canoe ride last year that we needed something she could stand/sit and grip. I made each of them a cushioned seat that fits snug in the canoe so it doesn't slide around. It allows them to see over the edge and gives them something to grip that isn't as slippery as the bottom of the canoe and much less chance of it tipping! Jagger loves hanging over the front - she was very quick to claim the 'captain's position'. For a couple of dogs that spend much of their time racing around a decent size back yard it's amazing that they don't mind being on leashes the whole time. No matter what we're doing they adapt and are just happy to be included. I'm so in love with them!!! BTW - pics were taken with a Fujifilm Finepix PS550 EXR - a great little camera that has manual features but lots of super easy point & shoot settings Jo, Jagger & Eddie
kjwarnold Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Fantastic pictures and looks like you had tons of fun! Love the one of the two of them together, one leaning a head on the other. Jandy and my Cairns, Kirby & Phinney
tlwtheq Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 That looks like heaven! I especially like the photo with the back legs splayed out while accessing the water. My baby Shadow was always very concsious of height when he would look out over a stream from a rock. Thanks for the uplift. Max and Nelly

Love pics of Cairn butts! Me too! I love that one. Kelly drinks from her water bowl like that. haha All of the pictures are beautiful.
