Happy Labor Day!

Idaho Cairns

Recommended Posts

Hope you are enjoying the end of summer, relaxing on "Labor Day" like our sunny girls, Bonnie, Sammi, and "Sister" Zoe, who is visiting from California for a whole month!

Happy Labor Day to you, too. All the pups look relaxed and happy, but Zoe almost fades into the background with that dark coloring! How lucky are you, to have three Cairns for a month?

Happy Labour Day to all the Cairns, their uprights (and any siblings)!

Love that picture of the sunshine ladies and their playmate.

Wonderful--a great Cairn pastime--guarding the realm from lions, tigers, and bears. Flying Monkeys if they dare approach!

Happy Labor Day to you as well. Wonderful pictures of Cairns relaxing in the noon day sun. Idaho, I can just imagine the chaos that can ensue at your home in the next month. No doubt videos will be forthcoming of all the interaction. Sister Zoe is absolutely beautiful and quite a striking contrast from your two girls. Love little Bonnie's frowning face and Sammy looking so regal.

Happy Labor Day!

Misty and rainy here. Angus went to see some friends and try luring.

They chased a squirrel's tail attached to a carriage driving whip. It's a bit dark in the arena so hard to see detail but you get the idea.

They had a ball.

We are ready to go to the real thing maybe later this Fall.

Angus was not as fast as the other two but after a while he learned to cut corners to get ahead. Smart boy!

Happy Labor Day back at you all! We had a Terrier Party to celebrate, too. I just posted pics in another thread. Love all these Cairns enjoying the holiday!

Happy Labor Day to you all. We spent some time on the front porch too, except even though it has a roof we were still getting wet.

Rain, Rain and more Rain along with winds and finally a rainbow.

Great pictures of all your pups on the deck.

hheldorfer, L-R Stella, Dundee, Echo. That is, Echo before I attacked her with Mars Coat King, thinning shears, and finger cots. Mostly the tail though. She still looks like a bad toupee, but at least she's shed about two pounds of dead coat and her tail no longer looks like a dandelion about to blow :w00t:

Hillscreek that looks like a blast. Easy way to exercise the dogs too :)

Happy Labor Day to you all and good night. Dempsy and I fed cows all day and we are pooped. But we did enjoy each others company. Loved the picture of the girls Idaho - what a nice threesome - it will be a great month - I would love to see a few more shots before Zoe goes home. Looks like Angus had a blast too. Good night.

Addie also spent the majority of her day out on the porch in the sun, although I failed to take any pictures. It was a hot one today though, so every 20 minutes or so she asked to be let in to cool down on the tile. After a couple of hours of back and forth, I opened the porch door to get something and she planted herself just inside the door so she could get the sun AND the air conditioning. I tried to explain it wasn't environmentally friendly of her, but she wasn't having it. She's spent most of the evening now sleeping on and off. Overall, a very unusually lazy day for my very active Cairn. She seems to know it's Labor Day and wants to take advantage of it.

Finally took them all to the dog park this afternoon, including the big old Pyrenees cross that is also staying for a month (my daughter is joining her husband, an Air Force pilot, in Sicily for a vacation) and it was wild. Sammi got knocked ass over tea kettle by a bunch of big dogs chasing a Frisbee but came up growling AND with the Frisbee, such fun. Next week it is the Dogapoolooza for the second year and I'll be taking plenty of pictures of that you can bet. We actually enjoy watching the Daughter's dogs, they are very well mannered and are easy to live with, plus our dogs seem to just relish the company so much. Zoe makes my day every morning when she jumps up on the bed to wake me by studiously licking every part of my face--even has Bonnie helping by licking my hands--its a little sloppy but she is so earnest with it that I just lay there and let her do her thing. Crazy Cairns, they are nothing if not innovative in ways to pester humans.

Happy Labor Day. Those pictures are great. Malcolm enjoys sitting in the sunshine too.

They are so darn smart aren't they.
