Happy birthday to Packy, who turns 8 years old today! He's got a full day of fishing scheduled and has already had a nice breakfast with some special treats of raw sweet potato. It's been a good day so far, now he's waiting to sit on Mom's lap while she drinks her coffee. It's a morning routine...

Here's Packy on the day he learned how to fish, about 6 years ago. My Mom caught a little bluegill and put it in the minnow bucket. Packy caught sight of it and the rest is history. He's now a fishing and swimming legend... He's on a roll right now, too. Since we've been back from our trip, he's caught a fish every single day - that's 7 days in a row now!

Happy birthday, Packy. Maybe Mom will let you keep one of those fish today, since it is your birthday? You could roll on it, or eat it, or just terrorize Kirby with it!

I'm thinking that the perfect end to the perfect birthday for Packy would be for a human to fry up a couple of his bluegill catches and letting him enjoy the "fruits of his labor" so to speak. After all there are many dogs out there that are holding back the hoards of bluegill from invading their home ground. But if that's not the plan I still hope he has a grand day!

Yay! I love Fishin With Packy! It is so amazing to me that these impatient little dogs can be so patient to get their prey. haha

I hope you enjoyed your fishin Packy.

We were out there a long time today, so there's lots of video. By the time we got to this part, he was just having fun watching the fish. We did have to end this one quickly -- Kirby took off after a squirrel and we had to scoot to make sure stopped.
