I'm slow today ... not sure I exactly understand the question. A link is just a URL (the http://blah.blah.blah in the address bar of the browser).

If I needed to link to this topic while I was writing a post in a another forum, I could just copy and paste from the address bar while looking at this topic.

If I needed to link to this specific *post* I would click the little "#2" over on the right side of the gray bar above the specific post and that will pop up a window with the link address to this post within this topic.

But I'm probably misunderstanding the question. If you can describe an example of what you're needing I'll bet that it is possible.

I want to send a link to my Does he have to be stripped? thread to the grooming section on the UK cairn forum Cairn Terrier Talk. Similar items re stripping being discussed there.

When I try to send the direct link from the thread clicking on the gray bar number they only seem to receive a link to our forum in general.

Should load the topic directly. If I paste the above into a non-logged-in browser it loads appropriately.
