pepper's microchip has now been registered and he's also been signed up with an id tag registry - and he'll be wearing a harness with tags at all times from now on - this from his very relieved owner - He was picked up 10 yards from the house...by a couple who never thought to knock and ask if he was ours....there are no other houses for at least 1/8 of a mile up the road. They took him because they "didn't want him hit by any car"..... Ok... that being said...I think that's the story they told when they called the local animal control. She said they acted surprised when told he lived 10 yards of where they "found" him. I think they took him because he's cute , but when he marked in the house, they changed their minds....that little vice of his, may have got him returned.
