Hillscreek Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 It's something new everyday for eight month old Angus. The grasses and weeds etc on the sides of an old trail we walk have grown long. No doubt field mice and voles are running about. I was walking along with Angus on his long line sniffing and wandering around. Then all of a sudden he pounced! And pounced again and a couple of other times as we walked along. He disappeared down into grasses above his head You know how springy cairns are. Even so I was really surprised how high he bounced. Wow. He did the whole thing very professionally with the paws together, necked arched, ears pointed forward. A picture! Wish I'd had my camera with me.
Sam I Am Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Ah yes .. The fox movement:) I get the pouncing thing with Jock when I throw snowballs into snow drifts. It always make me laugh ...it's like watching a dog on a pogo stick! Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened. - Anatole France Adventures with Sam &Rosie
Carolinasmom Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Ellie leaps through the yard and leaps at who knows what, (bugs I assume). DH says she looks like a leaping deer!
Dempsy's Mom Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 The pounce is fun. I love to watch it and they love to do it. All their muscles are in tune with "the pounce". Elsie, Max, Meeko & Lori
Hawkeye Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 You just described a perfect picture of the "pounce" and I can visualize Angus hunting for his prey. Lucky for you he didn't come up with a surprise in his mouth
