Mojohand40 Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Here's a picture of my recently adopted cairn, Maggie and my old Boxer, Caesar patiently waiting near the front door. Caesar is so old (12) he's nearly deaf and never barks, Maggie (8) barks at anything. Ceaser intimidates anyone who doesn't know him (though in reality, he's the most gentle dog ever), while Maggie looks all cute and helpless (though in reality she can instantly turn into a growling, snapping, barking whirling dirvish).. ....sooooo between the two of them, I got the makings of one really good gaurd dog.
Malcolm's Dad Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 I feel safer just looking at that picture. You have good dogs that are doing their duty.

I really identify with this. When I brought my first Cairn, Holdsworth, home in 1983 more than one source told me that the perfect guard team was 1. Cairn for the hearing, 2. Larger dog for the large voice and the muscle. We never had the "muscle" part, but 3 Cairns in and of themselves are alarming enough! Beautiful pic and beautiful story, bless you. Max and Nelly

Dempsy's Mom Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 So very cute. Caesar will see something and nudge Maggie to bark. It's all about teamwork. Thanks for sharing! Elsie, Max, Meeko & Lori
