Hillscreek Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 In several posts I've noticed owners tell how observant their Cairns are. This is true of Angus, six months old next week. He watches anything from beetles to flies to squirrels and on up. He looks in the sky and follows the flight of crows. He will run from a window in one room to one in another room following their flight. He is fascinated by the geese now beginning to fly north talking as they go. Tonight when we were out in the yard for him to go potty he stood a long time after he was done staring up at the moon and the clouds passing over it! I've owned quite a few dogs but none as observant of and so interested in such varied items and none has ever stood and watched clouds pass over the moon!
Dempsy's Mom Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Isn't that nice. They show great appreciation for everything through their observing nature. More people should be like this. Nice story. I can just see him watching the moon and the clouds. Angus, you keep your eyes open - you don't want to miss a moment of your surroundings. Elsie, Max, Meeko & Lori
kjwarnold Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Kirby spends a lot of time staring up at the sky, looking for squirrels in trees, birds flying over, planes going by, etc. He's alerted us to eagles flying over many times. It's really tickles us to see him outside, standing there looking up in the air. These guys are so smart! Jandy and my Cairns, Kirby & Phinney
pindrop Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Yup...Layla is the same way. Spends time looking at the moon, stars, clouds and during the day is focused on birds, squirrels, chipmunks etc. We seem to have a mouse living close by too. The other day hubby stacked some wood on the deck (as we knew a storm was coming) and I went out there and picked up a few logs and low and behold there was this mouse staring up at me. I let out a yelp as it startled me and Layla was on the case - the poor mouse took off and flew off the side of the deck with Layla in hot pursuit. Fortunately she knew the boundaries and slid to the edge, then stopped. Husband and dog missing ...25 cents reward for dog
josie&holly Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Holly will go out into the garden and then just sit there staring around her - not sure what exactly she is seeing but it is obviously fascinating! www.cairnterriertalk.co.uk
