Can you say Terrier?

Not if you were a contestant on last nights episode of Jeopardy College Championship.

The category was about dogs. I don't remember the question, but it specifically stated Cairn with the hint that there was something to filled in after the word Cairn. I feel so sorry for these smarty pants college kids and their $100,000 a year educations not knowing what "we" know. :D

All three of them just stood there. :confused1: Obviously none of them are going to become veterinarians.

I could not answer any of the other 59 questions myself, so what? That isn't the point. The point is they didn't know about Cairn Terriers and I did!!! Nanananananah.

Being a Cairns' human just puts you so much further ahead of those who aren't. :halo:

LOL! That gave me a good laugh for the evening. Thanks!

I would have felt the same way.

Having worked in a University for over 25yrs I can honestly say that some people are education beyond their intelligence.

Having taught at the local university for 30 years I'm not surprised--these fine kids do not come pre-loaded with lots of information about a lot of "stuff" that I am interested in and I get plenty of "What kind of dogs are those?" from adults on a regular basis so I know from experience that people from all walks of life don't have a clue what a Cairn Terrier is or looks like. How many of us always modify our responses with "They are Cairn Terriers, you know, Toto Dogs, Wizard Of Oz!" before we get an acknowledgement that the questioner understands what our little charges are?

I have a pretty extensive and for the time, expensive education and I never was led to believe or believed then or now that I could answer every question put my way.

It would be a hard day indeed if we made a baccalaureate degree dependent on identifying dog breeds. Now what was that Shibu In You thing?

Me either Brad. If I answer one question correctly I'm doing well.

I saw it too; the really sad part was that they didn't give any of the 5 questions the correct answer. Obviously not dog lovers....

Well as a whole they did awful in that category... I think only one question was answered correctly. Now my 16 yo answered EVERY question correct ,,,,,Hmmm I guess all those weekends of being dragged to dog shows and other dog events has payed off :)

Raise your expectations for what your Cairn can do....and try very hard to meet your Cairn's expectations of you.

I would be rich if I had a dollar every time I used that one! And then once in awhile their response is, "I thought that was a Scottie..." Nope!

We get asked all the time when we are out with the cairns "What kind of dog is that?" people just aren't familar. I usually end up saying like a westie only not white! Maybe if we could get them to use a cairn for some dog food commercials they would be more noted. Anyone ever see the cairn in the plow n hearth catalog on the doormat? sadly they have replace with another dog...I was bummed when this happened! :crybaby:

I would feel dumb as a pile of rocks if I missed that one
