5 of these "things" tried to attach us yesterday morning, but our trusty guard dogs scared them away. I feel so safe!!!

It took the dogs over an hour to settle down and relax. They kept running out side and checking the air ways for more "things".

One of our first 'field trips' with Barley was to go to a Working Terrier Association test in Marymoor Park (Redmond Washington) back in 1995. As we parked the car and set up in the field being used as parking lot, three balloons drifted overhead and began to land at the far end of the grassy field where we parked. Barley, barely six months old, was SOOOO proud of herself for barking the balloons away from the car -- forcing them down at the end the field. She had a "thing" for airplanes and the like ever after.

They do seem to be fascinated by anything that flies dont they? Renny has watched anything that passes overhead since he was a puppy, and at 6 1/2 years old still checks out anything "up there".

My house is near the approach for the local commercial airport which includes airliners and Air National Guard F-15's. There is quite a bit of traffic directly over my ouse. The local Hospital is about 10 blocks away and the Mercy Flight medical helicopters often pass overhead. When we're outside and a plane or helicopter is in sight, Renny will stop whatever he's doing and watch it until it's gone.

We also have frequent flocks of Canada Geese passing overhead and other birds in the area. All of the overhead traffic catches Renny's attention. In the Fall, the "flocks" of falling leaves get his attention too.

When I walk Ruffy in the park, people often comment on the fact that he constantly stops to look up in the air. In his case, he's scanning the trees, looking for squirrels to bark at. His best day was when one fell out of the tree and landed right at our feet! (He didn't attack and it ran off).

Kirby is always scanning the skies, too. Packy does once in a while, but Kirb is ever on sky patrol. I guess we've got both air and land attacks covered!

Hmmm. I can't say that Demps looks up alot. But boy, oh boy if he saw those balloons I think he'd have something to say.

Oh my! If Murphy saw those, he'd be heard in Canada. I swear FL is the buzzard capital of the world, and those suckers circle by the dozens and boy does Murphy let us know about them...along with eagles, herons, blue birds, dragonflies, and even an airplane flying so high my human eyes can barely see it.

Apparently they have acute vision. Thought maybe it was just him, but it looks like a breed trait. Titan is our anti-aircraft/geese/seagull, most anything airborne, early warning system. It's comforting to know we're protected on land, sea, and air from enemies of home.
