New Cairn?

Sam I Am

I just logged into one of our local rescue sites and found this little girl, Eeffa. http://www.wharfrescue.ca/ If she is still available we will be go and visit her and find out if Jock and her hit it off. Poor thing... spent four years of her life giving birth by the sound of it. Keep your toes and fingers crossed!

I hope things go well. I hope this dog can see a good thing coming along.

The Humane Society commercial was on tv this afternoon. If you haven't seen it the commercial has pictures of abused dogs and cats. It breaks my heart to watch that commercial. Then I think of the pets on this forum. Some of them are from shelters. They are lucky dogs for sure.

Some of the people on this forum have spent small fortunes on health care for their pets. Those are some lucky dogs too.

We have some lucky dogs, cats, horses, cows, birds and even lucky reptiles in our Cairn Talk family.

It's wonderful that we have good people who take loving care of their pets.

Oh well I'm getting emotional after watching that commercial and browsing that site so I'll just say to that little dog BEHAVE!!! And you won't regret it. And Jock you be nice too.

Can't wait to hear how it went. A companion for Jock - hope he and this little girl get along famously. I too would love to see her join your wonderful family and then we can follow her new adventures. How exciting!

Sadly we have decided that this little girl isn’t something we can tackle. She is sweet and lovely, but what is written up about her is rather misleading. She is not housebroken at all (that part didn’t bother us because that can be fixed) but she has health issues that are beyond our financial capabilities to fix. Her foster mum says she has the start of cataracts. It breaks my heart but at least I know she is out of the puppy mill and in a loving foster home. Her two puppies died 5 days after she gave birth to them and no one could tell us why, which in turn made me scared to bring her into our house which might lead to Jock catching something. Its all very sad and I feel sick about the whole thing.

Thank you, Terrier lover for letting us know. I can understand how awful you must feel. Many peoples' finances are stretched today. You were forced to make a hard choice and I feel for your sadness and disappointment.

Many dogs have an amazing capacity to adjust to, and cope with their disabilities. Let's hope that Eefa is such a dog and that a guardian angel will appear for her.

Although this was not meant to be, I'm sure you'll be able to find another orphaned cairn that Jock will hit it off with.

Wishing you the best,

Sanford

She is a sweetie - I can tell by her picture, but as you tell it, life has been really hard on her. I too understand - while you feel bad, we all feel bad along with you. Bless you for looking into her. I feel horrible that Eefa was dealt a life like that. Shame on all those puppy mills! I will never understand how those people can be so cruel and heartless.

That is a shame. I understand your decision. You tried. Bless you for caring and looking into this dog.

Terrier lover - I understand perfectly the position you found yourself in. While on the one hand you have tried to save this rescue, you have to be realistic for everyone's sake. The fact that you are considering an addition to your household, I'm sure that where one door has closed, there will be a window opening in the not to distant future. Hopefully you will be continuing your search and we're all looking forward to hearing the tale. Best of luck!
