hheldorfer Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Yesterday while DH, Buffy and Ziggy were at the dog park I rearranged the furniture in the living room. You'd think that I had torn the very fabric of Buffy's universe - she grumbled, barked and stared at me with a look of disbelief all day. I was careful NOT to move either of her precious dog beds, but that didn't make any difference. Last night when we settled down to watch a movie she stood in the middle of the floor and whimpered, apparently not able to decide where her place was. Finally we moved one of her beds on a spot between our recliners and that seemed to be the ticket. These guys really think they're in charge, don't they? Oh, and by the way, Ziggy couldn't have cared less where the furniture was - he just went on his happy way as usual.
oscar's mom Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 That is so funny. Glad to hear she was able to get comfortable in a new spot.
pindrop Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 oh goodness - I did exactly the same thing a few weeks ago and Layla had the same response. "Now where do I go?" They are very strange creatures in that they like the same pattern. Poor Layla didn't know I am a rearranger - but she has gotten used to now having the high-backed couch situated just right so she can sit atop and check out the woods (and smooge up my windows with her nose snot). Just what I needed - another two windows to clean. Husband and dog missing ...25 cents reward for dog
Dempsy's Mom Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Haha. Isn't it funny. I just love that about them - that "Who gave you permission to move or change anything!" Buffy must be the control freak and Ziggy the passive one. Very cute story. Elsie, Max, Meeko & Lori
Hawkeye Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 In Buffy's world things don't change unless she says so...hahaha! Glad to hear she settled down after alls said and done. We also rearranged the living room to make for the xmas tree and my boys were okay with it. Except we don't have a clear path any longer to throw the ball....oops!
TwoDogNight Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Both of mine do the same thing!!!!!! They will bark bark bark until I investigate and "correct" the situation!!! And don't get me started on bringing something new into the house.....
Lynn in TN Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 That is so funny. Kelly does the same thing if I bring something new in or move anything. I thought she would be awful when I moved the living room around to make room for the tree, so I decided to let her be apart of it. I did it with her right in my way helping. I also talked to her while I was doing it. It must have helped she acted fine and stayed right with me the whole time. I also thought I would have trouble with her chewing up ornaments and opening the presents but thats not the case she sleeps under the tree now (instead of her bed) and other than chewing on a few lower limbs of the tree she hasn't touched anything. I have been so impressed with her.
tlwtheq Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Our pups do like consistency. I have to admit I thrive on it myself so we're kindred spirits. Max and Nelly
