Christmas Gifts for Cairns

What's on your Cairn's Christmas list this year? We're always looking for new ideas on what to get the boys. New unstuffed toys always go over well (they love those things), as do bully sticks, but I'm trying to come up with something different. Santa needs some help this year!

Dear Santa,

Last week we bought a new stuffing free mouse. It's made by Petsages and we have the mini mouse. Under $5 at Target. For the first 3 days Taz carried it everywhere and is still enamored with it. Normally he'll get bored with a toy after awhile but he loves this thing!

The cool part is there are 2 different squeaker sounds - 2 chambers. The package says it will still squeak even if punctured, but that hasn't happened to ours, yet.

They also have other versions of this on Amazon.

We highly recommend!

Pegi likes anything that squeaks....cookies...and I'm going to Target tomorrow anyway so will check on the mouse that Taztalk refers to above! Last year Santa brought her a coat for really cold days and she and a dog friend ripped it off her, stomped it, shredded it and left it for dead in the snow. No coat this year....

Typo on my post about the stuffing free squeaky mouse - the company name is Petstages.

Here's a pic of what these toys like like - the are tubular in shape.

A football. The college kids next door accidentally threw one in our yard when Ripley was a few months old. We just had to throw it away recently when she demolished it. But she loved it! She would carry it around by the laces. She's gonna be so excited!

Cassie just skinned and disemboweled a baseball and would like another.

Kelly is getting 4 little red tennis balls 3 normal size red tennis balls 1 large red tennis ball(it is a little bigger than a softball) a stuffed green frog that has a green tennis ball for the body and a stuffing free raccoon. I hope she likes what she is getting for her first Christmas. I can't wait to see what she does with the big tennis ball it's the size of her head. She won't be able to catch it with her mouth. HA!HA! It's kind of a gag gift. heheheh

Oh I 've got it! A baseball stuffed with a popcorn ball! THAT would be their favorite thing ever.

In the same vein as TazTalk with the PetStages, Addie has the Durable Play Stix (http://www.petstages...-play-stix.html) and thinks it's just about the greatest thing ever. No stuffing, the whole entire thing is one long rubber squeakier with a fabric outside, and it has floppy things on the end. Addie tends to get bored with toys, but these have been a favorite for months now. No matter where she grabs it, it squeaks and she loves it. And she has yet to do any damage to it.

Ruffy's favorite toy is the Busy Buddy Tug-A-Jug from Petsmart. I put some Charlee Bear treats in it and he rolls it around and chases it all over the apartment. I got the small size which he can just barely fit his mouth around. He carries it and buries it in my bed, his bed, the sofa, etc. It's completely indestructible except for the braided cord which he chewed off in 2 minutes!

I would love to find Divot a ball that he can't destroy! Any idea? He has destroyed tennis balls, hard core tennis balls, golf balls, baseballs, a football, a soccer ball, and a lacrosse ball (this one lasted the longest though).

Any ideas? He loves fetch, but it's an expensive game around here!

Also, any unstuffed loves that are good for destroyers? Or is that a lost cause?

Thanks for any ideas to help make Divot's Christmas bright!

Indestructible balls:

Everlasting treat ball (with the added bonus of being a food puzzle) http://www.petco.com...l-for-Dogs.aspx

Everlasting fun ball (also a food puzzle but more of a straight-forward ball): http://www.petco.com...at=OnSiteSearch

Addie destroys everything she can and hasn't managed to destroy either of these. And she loves them. The first is more of a food puzzle in the shape(ish) of a ball. The second is more of a throwable ball (probably best for fetch), but you can also stick treats/kibble/etc in it.

I also dogsat a yellow lab that was Mr. Destructo and he couldn't hurt these.

In terms of unstuffed things for destroyers, I suggest the Play Stix from PetStages (see earlier post). Addie hasn't destroyed these. And they squeak, which is extra fun. If Divot manages to get the fabric off the outside (Addie hasn't) the toy would still be viable.

My fur babies are either chashing each other or sleeping (see picture) so I'm getting them a new dog bed duvet from www.mollymutt.com big enough for them to share. :halo:

Great suggestions! I got Divot a Glow Orbee Tuff Ball since the brand was recommended on here. At night, it sure helps to get him to run out and do his business if he has a ball to chase on the way out. I'm hoping the glow will help him find it better!

I love the duvet present so the two pups can snuggle together!
