Sam I Am Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 I have started reading a book written by a vet … wonderful stories about the pets we love. It really struck a cord with me after all of us following Currey’s story of courage and the determination of his owners. At the beginning of this book there was a short paragraph that hit home for me the importance and wonder of owning a pet. In our case a Cairn. "We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own, live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached. Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way. We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully understanding the necessary plan." Irving Townsend. Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened. - Anatole France Adventures with Sam &Rosie

Is Irving Townsend the author? Also, what is the title? Thanks for sharing this. Max and Nelly
Sam I Am Posted November 15, 2011 Author Posted November 15, 2011 The book is called "Ask the animals" and the author is Bruce R Coston. I found it in our local library. I really enjoyed the read... full of humour and of course tears also. Very well written.
