Dempsy's 3rd birthday

Things are slowly coming back to normal. We are all done in the fields - now we are bringing home cattle from the pastures. Demps is happy to have me around all day again. I had a couple of videos from his birthday that I finally unloaded. It was a cold blustery day, but for the most part I think Demps enjoyed coming along in the grain cart. We saw lots of wildlife - pheasants, deer, coyote - and Demps did get some good sniffers in. It was an ok day.

What a great way for a Cairn to spend a birthday. What a "natural" for a farm dog that Demps is. I really enjoyed the video--with Demps riding in the harvester, the big old rooster out the window, and that wood pile investigation. All the things a Cairn enjoys in one place.

So sweet... I love Demps the farm yard dog series!

Looks like a pretty cool birthday for a cool dog! As always, thank you for sharing! Love your videos of life on the farm!

Happy birthday, Dempsey! Nice way to spend a day on the farm, and you got to enjoy sniffing around and barking at cows. Packy loves to bark at cows, too!

Oh wow Demps - what a great way to spend your Birthday. Riding and sniffing and barking (and no leash best of all) - sure looks like you were cut out to be a farm dog.

Fascinating video - Demps looks so at home surveying the land from the machine. I think it particularly interesting seeing your American Farm as used to smaller farms here in UK.

Demps may be stretching the definition of "crofter's dog" to a typically American scale (this is after all a vast country) - but there can be no doubt he's in his element.

I sure love these videos. I know to you this is life and serious work. For this child of the suburbs, the sight of Demps in the field just rings and resonates all the most pleasurable aspects of weekends on the farm where we host our earthdog tests. We know the dogs love it there - those just visiting and our host's own Dachshunds! Dogs and farms are a time-honored union.

My own cattle dog Stella joined in when Dempsey started talking to the cows :P

Wow - we would ALL love to visit. If my dogs ever got out there, I don't think I could entice them back to the city...

Happy Birthday Demps! Kirby sends a special "Woof" for two reasons, one you two look a lot alike and two, his birthday is tomorrow! Dempsy really looks like he takes his farming responsibilities seriously! What a great little guy!
