12 week old Commodore made a new discovery one day....

For the record, nothing was left on the roll and the pile he made in the back was also marked with his pee

I LOVE MY PUPPY!!!!

Very cute but I have to tell you that Holly [who is nearly 8] loves paper! She loves to get at the post, papers, tissues and she she will shred them into very tiny pieces.

I often wonder if I should train her to dispose of confidential waste instead of using a shredder but unfortunately I do not think she would distinguish between what I want shredding and what I want to keep! :)

How cute! What a precious little face!

I could never figure out why Murphy loves paper shredding so much, because he never did the toilet paper thing when he was a puppy. Then, we picked him up from Gramma and Grampa's one morning after he spent the night. THEY were giving him pieces of paper and letting him be their shredder!

So cute! Mine never went after the roll but all bets were off when it came to digging tissues out of the waste basket.

yes, the word is out among cairn puppies about toilet paper. mine loved to string the roll out all over the house. teddy chewed one on the roll, it looked like beaver had gnawed through a small tree trunk. big fun! tell them to keep it out of the trees, though.

Layla is much like Hawkeye's bunch. No wastepaper basket is safe around her. Hubby's basket (beside his chair in the living room) has to have a clipboard over the top and she has learned to move that aside. The one in the washroom has to be kept at 1/2 full as she likes to go in there and pokes her head over the top to see if she can destroy any white tissues. If the toilet paper is more than half way to the floor - that is fair game as well. BUT - socks are her favorite as she manages to curl them up and stuff them in her mouth - then run around taunting us to try to get them back.

Such a cutie!!

I can't tell you how many photos videos I have of various baby creatures and their toilet paper antics. But for some reason, it's one of the only thing Hubble never did!

Nothing says "new pet addition" more than a house whose bathroom needs cleaning every day!

Pegi is like Layla; bathroom trash is a treat. We have to keep the doors closed or it's shredded tissues all over the place. Our last dog was like this too; must be the spirit of Indy living in Pegi!!!! She's not interested in toilet paper though...

What a cutie pie.

Kelly shreds paper better than my shredder does, and I have so much fun watching her. Now if we could teach them how to put it back in the waste basket we would have it made.

That would be wondderful if they could put it back in the bin! Also put the toys back too....................

Holly does not bother with toilet rolls [or waste paper bins] - I forgot to mention that in previous post! her favourite paper comes through letterbox in front door[do not tend to have mail boxes in UK!] and so sometimes we have a race to rescue/grab the post!

I knew someone that had that problem they attached a metal box to their door to catch the mail and the dogs couldn't get to it. It worked great for them.

Commer LOVES socks! If he can get in the bedroom in the morning and my fiance has socks on the floor he grabs one and saunters away to play with it...laundry and Commer don't go well together! He never damages them though, just loves to have it in his mouth and play with it!

unfortunately I do not have space to put a box behind door and the letterbox is near the floor................. oh well, it keeps me fit!

You're lucky he's so little. The first time I left Zekey alone, (adopted at age 1), I put him in the bathroom and went to work. Well, HE went to work as well -- shredded not only the toilet paper, but the shower curtain, waste basket items, and the bottom of the door! Good thing he's so darned cute!!

Just a warning for all those owners of tissue eaters: if your dogs have a habit of pulling tissues out of the bathroom waste bin, make sure you don't put your used dental floss there. A cat we know ended up having a lot of surgery when the floss got wound around its tongue. Ouch!

That said, mine prefer the paper towels, used as napkins, that fall off our laps during dinner. One little one (not telling, but T Bone - you know who you are!) has a habit of reaching up and tugging a towel off just for the treat...
