tlwtheq Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Hey Everyone. I kind of lost my will to do anything when I got laid off in June 2010. It took me 8 months to find a job because I don't wanna work for NSA or CIA or drive 60 miles one-way to work. I want to start involving myself in communities I care about (again) and this is one of them. Olie, Teddy and Sweet Pea are happy and healthy. I checked out for a while, now I want to check back in. This is a first step. Cairns Rule. Tara Max and Nelly
Idaho Cairns Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Tara, welcome back. I can only imagine how hard it is to lose a job in this awful economy--wish I could say something bright and cheerful like "hang in there" but I know how this must work on your soul. However, this is where you need to be with all these happy little dogs who will brighten any dark day. I am very glad you are checking back in, we've missed you here.
tlwtheq Posted October 29, 2011 Author Posted October 29, 2011 Thanks folks. I guess I don't understand the new rules. Looks as if I'm a pariah for not posting for a while. I'm kinda out of my funk. Max and Nelly
BetsyNoodle Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Welcome back, Tara. So happy to hear that you, Olie, Teddy, and Sweet Pea are doing well! I have always enjoyed reading your posts, and I am looking forward to hearing more from you. Melissa
Malcolm's Dad Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Welcome back. Good to see you again. Looks as if I'm a pariah for not posting for a while. Huh? No we don't think that. I've noticed this happens in chat rooms. People drop in and drop out and drop in again. No problem.
josie&holly Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Good to hear from you again! www.cairnterriertalk.co.uk
Tuesday Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Welcome back! I live by the philosophy that it's okay to retreat back into our shells every now and then with one rule, you have to come out again. It's good to see you out!
Dempsy's Mom Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Hi Tara! You know what they say, "Life is great if you don't weaken." There is alot in that little saying. Glad things are turning around for you - hang in there. Welcome back. Elsie, Max, Meeko & Lori
hheldorfer Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 You're still part of the Cairn family and we've missed you, too. So what have Teddy, Ollie and Sweet Pea been up to lately? Any adventures to tell us about?
Lynn in TN Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 I did not know you before because I have only joined this year. I can understand what you were going through as in 2002 I lost my job in August 2 days before finding out I was pregnant and then Dec. 2, 2002 My Husband lost his job as well. It was very scary and we had some anger and frustration and just completely hurt feelings, and a lot of worry with having a child and another on the way. We were not very social at that time either. I am glad you feel like being social again and you are right Cairns Rule! I truly hope and pray things are looking up for you.
pindrop Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Wonderful to see you again and glad you surfaced long enough to let us know how you are doing. More updates when you can. Good luck! Husband and dog missing ...25 cents reward for dog
sanford Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Dear Tara, Life throws us curves and your feelings are perfectly understandable. I've always welcomed your input and I'm happy to look forward to more. Please keep in touch as best you can. FEAR THE CAIRN!
bradl Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 A pariah? I think not. (courtesy of Websters): Nice to see you coming around - I missed you. I always assumed you did work for the CIA - Cairn Instigator Alliance - sometimes found using the alias 'Cairn Talk' CAIRNTALK: Questions? tlwtheq Posted October 29, 2011 Author Posted October 29, 2011 You're still part of the Cairn family and we've missed you, too. So what have Teddy, Ollie and Sweet Pea been up to lately? Any adventures to tell us about? Welll.... I can tell you what they're up to right now. I bought a couple of loofa toys and they have become the toys-du-jour. Right now Olie is torturing Teddy and Sweet Pea by just walking around with one of them in his mouth....not playing with it or chewing on it, you understand. The dynamic with these three is so interesting. No one cares about the other loofa toy sitting on the floor...just the one in Olie's mouth. Oh boy, now Teddy's getting really annoyed...growling and barking. Olie may have just turned 11 but he still knows how to give his brother and sister a hard time! Max and Nelly
janis Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Hey Tara! Glad you're back. I was devastated when I got downsized from a company I had been with 22 yrs 6 months! Someone said "it's not personal, it's just business!" Right up till they were downsized! It's personal, it hurts, but we do recover. I also have missed your posts - I think I agree with Brad - a CIA instigator for sure!
montdoug Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Howdy from Montana! I remember you from when I first got Gus 5 years ago. I too am a prodigal son that has recently returned with the addition of a new Lil 2 year old. Great site focused on a great topic and It's nice to see a familiar face. Certainly no reason you'd remember me with my short tenure here but you'll possibly remember the "Odd Couple", Gus and Merlin. Here they are napping on the couch (Gus is having a bad hair day). Sure sorry to hear about your struggles! Here's hoping everything improves for you soon. All the best. Doug Have you hugged your Cairn today?
Hawkeye Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Welcome back Tara, so glad to hear from you again and that Ollie, Teddy & Sweet Pea are doing well. Remember you always have your Cairn Family!
