Nena Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 I was just listening to the saturday morning radio show and the local vet said that a great tip for the fall is to spray yourself and your pets with Listerine to keep the ticks away. 3/4 listerine to 1/4 water in a spray bottle. He swears it works great and is safe. I now use different oils that seem to work. Anyone ever try this? cairn terriers leave pawprints on our lives
pindrop Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 No - but then again there is always a first time for everything. Who would have thought that Listerine would work against ticks. Will definitely keep this in mind. Will have to let hubby know about this when he and his buddies go hunting. Husband and dog missing ...25 cents reward for dog
percy's_girl Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I've heard of people spraying Listerine around their house to repel mosquitoes, so maybe it would work for ticks, too. I have an all natural ant spray I've used that has peppermint oil in it and smells just like Listerine...guess bugs don't like that smell!
Nena Posted September 26, 2011 Author Posted September 26, 2011 maybe that is it I use peppermint oil spray right now. that seems to work to. Not sure I want to have Nena smell like listerine all day! (ha ha) cairn terriers leave pawprints on our lives
Hawkeye Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I had not heard of this either, but have used the same mixture to freshen their coat instead of giving them a bath.
