darkpantherbabe Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Sadie's Mother instinct has FINALLY kicked in!! YAY SADIE!!!! her 'n Ace did a calm greet while Ace was on my lap... and Sadie is being very calm... no whinning, no whimpering, no bouncing.. is just sitting pretty by my chair, or occasionally stands up and wags her tail..... but no hyperness... yay!! wont trust them alone together as of yet though... Earlier, Sadie learned a lesson.. Ace was under the kitchen table exploring, and she went up and started being bouncy 'n barking, and scared Ace... Well Ace started hissing, all puffy... and swipped at Sadie's nose and made contact... Sadie has been mellower ever since!! LOL!! save a life! Adopt!
darkpantherbabe Posted September 23, 2011 Author Posted September 23, 2011 We still have rocky moments(alot of them) but she isn't hyper. She is a fast learner. LOL!! quick swipe to the nose with a set of kitten sharp claws, taught her to leave kitten alone on the barking 'n bouncing.... lol. save a life! Adopt!
Meggie Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 It'll take time. But it's great Ace is standing up for himself!! I don't know if you saw the video I posted of my Hubble and cat, Elijah...but hopefully this is what you'll end up with...your own personal comedy duo https://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10150121866520127
pindrop Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Always a nervous time when introducing any existing animal to a new one especially a kitten. Glad things are going well and will continue to improve. Husband and dog missing ...25 cents reward for dog
Dempsy's Mom Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Yay Sadie! You had better watch it or soon you will be playing Hubble and Elijah and having fun! It was fun watching Hubble and his zoomies. Sadie will enjoy having a kitty around. Thanks for the pics and video! Elsie, Max, Meeko & Lori
josie&holly Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Holly believes cats are for chasing! so enjoyed video of Hubble and Elijah when the cat chases him! I think Sadie will work things out with Ace eventually. Very cute looking kitten. www.cairnterriertalk.co.uk
darkpantherbabe Posted September 23, 2011 Author Posted September 23, 2011 Thanks everybody. I know it takes time. I used to own 2 cats 'n a dog.. I had 1 cat first, then got a schipperke, then got another kitty. It was nervous when Intro'ing the doggy to the first cat, then intro'ing the 2nd kitty to the kitty/doggy duo... But they ended up best buddies and the kitties were terribly depressed when the doggy Died due to cancer, Then the younger kitty(2nd kitty) became very depressed with the older kitty(1st kitty) died of heart failure. I ended up rehoming her she became soo stressed 'n depressed.... I can not wait to see them cuddle together and play together. The kitten is not running from her, so that is really good. I am soo proud of Ace as well for standing up to himself. Had them both in the bedroom with me last night, and Ace was curled up on my pillow by my head, and Sadie was curled up against my stomach. no fights and she left Ace alone during the night. I wonder if Sadie is kitty friendly after all... Just gotta work on her with her Prey Drive.. lmao. not all animals are prey.... hehehe save a life! Adopt!
