DemiSheep Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 My wife and I watched the movie "The Lake House" (romantic movie) tonight and in it is a dog that definitely is part cairn... The funny thing is Sandra Bullock's character tells her pen pal friend that one if her favorite things is the smell of her dogs paws!!! My wife and I smelled Attila's paws a couple of weeks ago and sure enough as many of you mentioned in the other thread about cairn paws -- yup smells like frito's!!! Our Cairns: Attila (Sprouted 03/09/11), Tessa (Sprouted 01/14/12)
Jeff N Oscar Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 My friend pointed out to me that after the dogs lifts his leg to pee, he puts it right down into the puddle he just made. I started paying attention to that and sure enough both my boys do it. I am afraid to sniff their paws now...lol But the frito smell does have me curious I became a dog person AFTER I got my dog.
Dempsy's Mom Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I love their smell. Everybody has to smell their footies. It's a cairn trait you can't miss. Elsie, Max, Meeko & Lori
Lynn in TN Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 It is true. Kelly's paws smell like Frito's. It is so funny that their paws smell like them. If you don't believe us smell the bottoms of their paws.
KShep Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I have a great one for you guys. Elizabeth: The Golden Age Elizabeth: The Golden Age - "Mary Queen of Scots Prison"
sanford Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I have a great one for you guys. Elizabeth: The Golden Age Elizabeth: The Golden Age - "Mary Queen of Scots Prison" That was one cute little cairn. I wish we could have seen more of him/her. The "Royal Stripper" did an excellent job of grooming... very contemporary looking cairn... Ahead of its time??? FEAR THE CAIRN!

eastofeden Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Cute as he is the dog in The Lake House movie is a wirehaired Portuguese Podengo Medio. Podengo's come in 3 sizes and the Pequeno (small) version looks very cairnish with huge ears They are a hound breed and as of January were added to the AKC Misc. Class. They seem like really cool dogs. Raise your expectations for what your Cairn can do....and try very hard to meet your Cairn's expectations of you.

TwoDogNight Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 It is true the dog in Lake House is a Podengo, same as the dog in George Lopez Show. But I watched a Jimmy Stewart movie last night, Anatomy of a Murder, 1959, that has a cute Cairn, his name in the movie was Muff, real name, Snuffy. To bad the movie is in black & white. Here is an interesting link about dogs in movies: http://www.mybuddydog.com/famousmovie.htm
Hagar Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Another movie with a Cairn in it is "Eight heads in a duffle bag" . The movie is sort of a stupid dark comedy, but the Cairn makes it worth looking for. The movie is showing on HBO. According to my program guide there are several showings late this coming week. The Cairn only has a couple of minutes of screen time, but he is a cute one.
