kjwarnold Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 For those of you wondering when your Cairns grow up, please don't let this scare you. Kirby is 3 years old now and he still does silly things like this. He reverts back to his "puppy bark" and just has fun. Notice how Packy just sits there thinking, "I can't believe he's doing this." bradl Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Tail a-blur and the play-bow-bounce. Love it. CAIRNTALK: Questions? Need help? → Support Forum Please do not use PMs for tech support CRCTC: Columbia River Cairn Terrier Club | 2025 Calendar
Sam I Am Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Even three is still young.. I love it. They have so much joy in them Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened. - Anatole France Adventures with Sam &Rosie
hheldorfer Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Hilarious! Hard to believe he's 3 years old.
Lynn in TN Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I just love it. So cute. It makes me want to play.
Idaho Cairns Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 What fun, especially when Packy shrugs and walks away! Fun video.
darkpantherbabe Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 lol. that is sooo cute... sadie is 4y and she does that kinda stuff... but she does a mock growl when playing with my oldest daughter and does the fercious tail blur wagging and bouncing around... that is just toooooo cute. save a life! Adopt!
Jeff N Oscar Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Really enjoyed that! Thanks... Kirby is adorable I became a dog person AFTER I got my dog.
TazTalk Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Those scary tissues!! Kirby and Packy look at things a bit differently it seems! Great video.
MegsMom Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 ....wondering when your Cairns grow up, please don't let this scare you. Kirby is 3 years old now and he still does silly things like this. I wonder what you'll say when he still does this at 10? My boy does. If he weren't terrified of a camera, I'd put you up a vid, but alas, a camera sends him packing. He has a battery-powered mouse -a cat toy- that he will spend at least an hour playing with like this. Then he'll rest and start again. Bloody thing is sound & motion activated, talks & beeps (with blinking-light eyes), and he barks at it to 'goad' it. And if he accidently flips it to 'wheels up' position, he'll flip it back onto it's wheels so it keeps moving. Mostly I giggle while he's playing, he has so much fun. A Bumble Ball also elicits the same action. [Cy-purr mouse; almost palm-sized, less tail, hard plastic, that he's learned not to chew on or Mom has to do 'surgery'. Thankfully a friend donated 2 more for backups.]
kjwarnold Posted September 6, 2011 Author Posted September 6, 2011 Actually, Packy did the same routine out on the dock yesterday with me. He gets frisky when he's wet, plus it was nice and cool, so he was ready to "get" me. He still plays silly at 7 years old and I don't see that changing. Our first Cairn, Willie, could still get some frisky going at 15 yrs! Jandy and my Cairns, Kirby & Phinney
Hawkeye Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I see you will be protected from the dreadful kleenex box thanks to your Kirby!! Very funny video, love the tail.
ScruffynMag Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 That made me laugh, his tail wagging, puppy butt in the air. Packy made me smile, walking off like that as if to say 'stupid' www.cairnterriertalk.co.uk
janis Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Thanks for the morning smile! Love your babies! While I was watching my Kirby heard "get it Kirby" and came running!
pindrop Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 The "attack of the killer kleenex box" - love Kirby's reaction with tail wagging - boppin and weaving about. Packy has the right reaction - "it's only a cardboard box - get a life". I think it's the strangeness of something being on the floor that doesn't belong and he isn't sure whether to attack or not. Here we buy them toys from the store and they seem to be quite content with empty kleenex boxes or finished paper towel rolls. Husband and dog missing ...25 cents reward for dog
Zekey's Mom Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Too cute! Zekey does that when he finds/is given food he's never seen before. He stole a piece of frozen rye bread when it dropped on the floor, ran to the living room, and just barked at it! This weekend I gave him a little piece of canteloupe, and same thing - he had to bark before he'd eat it. He's 3 now. Gavin, on the other hand (age 8), needs to find his inner puppy. If he's unfamiliar with something, he just ignores it and walks away.
darkpantherbabe Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Sadie acts like a little puppy when given a Milk Bone(Flavor) Treat. I call them "cookie", and she comes running when i shake the box and call out "do you want a cookie?". I think its the word "cookie" she has associated with the box shaking and the treat. Once given the "cookie" she'll stare at you if you hand it to her, so you have to toss it infront of her, and she'll stare at it and at you, then when you try to take it away, she'll reach down grab it, and take off... then the fun part starts... she'll throw it up in the air, watch it land, run over, bark a few times with butt in air, then it repeats 3 to 5 times... and if you walk over, get down on hands 'n knee's and try to reach for it, she'll mock growl, grab it, and take off, tail wagging, look over her shoulder at you to make sure you didn't follow, then she'll throw it into the air and if you try to "steal" her "cookie" from her, she'll go down and start eating it. lmao.. its become a game 'n habit. and it happens every single time she's given one. I love kirby vs kleenex box. lol. save a life! Adopt!
jodi0553 Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Another great video! Love your dogs! When Currey does his I-don't-trust-that-evil-thing bounce and bark routine, if I pretend the evil thing is attacking me and cry "help Currey help" and he'll rush to my aid. I've collapsed laughing while being attacked by the broom, vacuum, a 2x4, a roll of wrapping paper and more other oddly shaped large items than I can remember. He's so eager to save me even though he's wary of the objects. I totally don't miss the days when a new piece of paper on the fridge or my purse in the wrong place made him go nuts, though!
Hapzen Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Hahahahaha, thats sooo cute The face of Packy actually got me thinking of a very funny cat picture Helene & Thia
percy's_girl Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Oh Kirby, you're so silly! I like how he shakes his head a couple of times like he's doing the death shake but doesn't have the box in his mouth. It reminds me of Percy when she's playing with bugs...she'll paw at them but her paw is about 6 inches from the bug. Not sure if she's scared of them or has poor paw-eye coordination, lol! Packy's response to Kirby's antics is priceless!
