pindrop Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Well we finally bite the bullet and decided to have Layla professionally groomed. So we dropped her off today at 9:00 a.m. and she was finally ready at 12:30. With great anticipation Oldfox and I headed over to pick her up. She is now 10 1/2 months old and definitely started to look extremely ragged (even though we have been using the Mars Coat King along with a steel comb and a great pair of scissors). Oldfox has decided he is going to call her his little "Chiquita" as she now looks like a chihuahua. I believe she is much relieved to have shorter hair as the weather is still quite warm and I'm sure she feels so much lighter. But....enough said - I'll let you all judge her new "do" with the before and after pictures. The first picture was taken yesterday with her skunk and fox stuffed in her mouth (for those of you who are wondering) - the second picture was taken tonight after supper. Husband and dog missing ...25 cents reward for dog
sanford Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 The first picture was taken yesterday with her skunk and fox stuffed in her mouth.... Skunk+ fox+ cairn = Perfect combo! The photos of Layla confirm that I love the way cairn terriers look, whether they are shaggy or groomed. Layla is a beauty - before and after! FEAR THE CAIRN!
BetsyNoodle Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Oh, my gosh...she is a beautiful little girl!! Her haircut looks great!
Idaho Cairns Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Little Laya cleans up good! Neat Cairn Terrier under all that hair--she looks great.
Lynn in TN Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Oh pindrop Layla is so beautiful before and after. She is looking so grown up. I can't believe how fast she grew up. I really love the pictures.
Islander Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 I also like Layla and all Cairns both shaggy and stripped. I especially appreciate being able to fully see their beautiful dark eyes. And I like the way their ears feel when they are de-shagged. Layla is gorgeous - definitely not a Chihuahua!
hheldorfer Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 She's absolutely gorgeous either way. True beauty can't be disguised by a shaggy coat!
Tami Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Wow! Layla is a drop dead gorgeous Cairn! If Fearghus hadn't had the ol' snip snip he'd be tempted to run over to see Layla ASAP. Seriously cute haircut. We used to have a fox over here too. Sadly he was replaced 3x before it became apparent that stuffed toys no longer lasted longer than 1 minute in Fearghus' strong jaws. Cheers, Tami
Dempsy's Mom Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 I think we all agree - we love her both ways. She is sweet. Elsie, Max, Meeko & Lori
Malcolm's Dad Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 She looks good either way. Just a little bundle of cuteness.
Hawkeye Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Layla looks beautiful...she's such a cutie pie. She must feel a lot cooler. We also had a fox that feel victim to Radar's teeth. P.S. The boys say "I LIKE"!
ScruffynMag Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 She's beautiful before and after and can't believe how her coat has gone so light coloured. What a cutie Scruffy likes very much! www.cairnterriertalk.co.uk
Rattlesnake Gal Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Wow, Layla is growing up super cute! Love the new doo. Two Cairns are better than one! Mac is so much more active and happily, Bailey loves the lake!
