game ideas?

Since it appears it' not going to cool down until probably October so we can't go on any long walks again until then, been trying to come up with some new, good indoor games. We're learning ring toss, jumping thru a (hula) hoop, &, of course, fetch but Finn needs something to do for exercise & mental stimulation. What kind of doggie games does everyone here play??

Sometimes we'll have a few treats and station ourselves at opposite ends of the house and take turns calling Fearghus to come to us. Usually after just a bit it gets him so excited that he'll launch into a crazy run (zoomies). If we feint at him it keeps him at it for just a few minutes more.

Cheers,

Baylee goes CRAZY with socks. Clean or dirty. So I found some "cute" ones on clearance. Plaid, stips, flowers, the wilder the design the better. I've been hiding toys inside the socks, or chew treats. She has been going WILD with them.

Good luck.

I get one of the kids to hold Kelly and take a treat and hide it while she is watching. I fake hide it in several places. She will check all the places she sees me go until she finds it.

I have a big plastic tube and I fill it with bits of screwed up newspaper and some of his kibble wrapped up in the bits of paper. He has a great time with it. Makes a mess but it keeps him occupied for a while because I stuff the bits of paper in really tight.

We play hide the treat and fetch too and he has a Babble ball and a treat ball.

Mine like to tear up Kleenex.... :surrender:

It's because cats simply can't be trusted for heavy lifting & dirty work required in the war on terrior.

Dempsy is hard to keep amused, but always will play fetch with the ball in the house or tug of war. I get down and crawl around with a blanket over me and pop out and grab the ball from him. I think I get more of a workout than he though.

Jagger sometimes plays with a Hol-ee Roller ball with a dried sweet potato inside (or you could use a pigs ear...but I personally find them disgusting!). When she figured out how to pull it out of the small ball, we put the potato in the small ball and then put both in a bigger ball. Another bad-weather toy is her Buster Cube which we fill with her kibble and treats. She'll spend an hour knocking the cube around the house getting the treats to come out.

Some great suggestions here. I got Radar to amuse Bailey and vice versa. We do the traditional fetch in the house which usually ends up in a tug-of-war between the two, then the zoomies and then I go do something else. I really like the hide-n-seek games.

I love having the dogs play fetch up the stairs. We have a door at the top of our stairs, so I stand at the bottom with 2 toys. I throw one up the stairs for them to fetch, then squeak the other one so they run back down.
